I feel like this could be the best card revealed today. For one thing, it is cheap. For another, I can see it in multiple flavors of Mage to get Frost secrets or the new secret for a good amount of card advantage. Of course, Hunter and Paladin could find some use.
Wow this card will a staple in Freeze Mage deck. Not only it recycles Ice Block/Barrier, it saves 3 mana casting the secret thus gaining lots of tempo.
This seems like it could be really good if you just put a single secret type in your deck. That way you get a predictable effect each time you play it. Might be good in Paladin rush decks with the new Revenge secret too?
I think this is more of a Mage or Paladin card than a Hunter Card.
Both Mage and Paladin have secrets that are always useful, and can build their deck to include only those. Most Hunter secrets are situational, and you want to be able to use the right one at the right time.
If I build a secret centered deck, I would want this card in Mage but not Paladin. Getting a Mage secret for free is great! they're rather expensive cards and all do something useful. Getting a Paladin secret for free robs me of the chance to charge up a Secretkeeper or Questing Adventurer.
Very interesting Paladin card, snagging Avenge/Noble Sacrifice from your Deck early to get consistancy in Aggro Pally. Interesting guy in Mage too because he can pull out your Ice Blocks for more consistancy (And if worried about Loatheb he gets them out either way).
I wonder what happens if your deck doesn't contain any secrets (surely will happen in arena) or if all your secrets have been played. Will it give an indication of that to your opponent or put up a fake secret that can't activate? The latter would almost be pretty cool as people would start playing around whatever they have yet to test for.
If the meta switches to a lot of deathrattle and silence cards, few people will play oozes. So a hunter can use this card to keep fueling his bow with charges and go for quick face.
Nice point.
I'm not so sure about that: weapons are the only form of removal that did not get a new counter-card in Naxx, which means they're going to remain quite popular. Popular weapons = Oozes in the meta.
Looking at the new cards for tonight I have a question with this minion:
Can he pull a secret that you already have in play? Say I have played a Vaporize on my preceding turn and it's still active now, then I play this guy : Can he pull the other Vaporize from my deck and so trash it?
No, he only put secrets not already active. If you have a vaporize active when Mad Scientist effect trigger, nothing happens if the only secret left in your deck is another copy of vaporize.
No, it's when "it's played" so the same deal applies to battlecry's with deathlord for instance
I can see mad scientist being good on mages and maybe hunters, but that's it, pally secrets suck badly and are too cheap to justify a 2/2 for 2 mana
Thanks, couldn't remember that. I was curious, because Starving Buzzard draws you a card, when Deathlord "puts" one of your Beasts into play. So I guess, "put into play" is more like summoning sth, and "summoning" a Secret is not playing it (from your hand).
Great news everyone! Blizzard has just announced the Mad Scientist
Its put you secret?! Dont get the confusion.

my question is does it actually remove the secret from your deck…or could you now have potentially 4 iceblocks?

With duplicate this minion is awesome. The secret Mage deck synergy just got serious.

Battlecry*
I like it. I like it a lot. As someone who wants to try to make a mage secret deck when Naxx hits, this is just what I needed.

Does Secretkeeper get +1/+1 when Mad Scientist dies?

No, and this was already tested in Naxx mage class challenge, where you got both cards.
