So what I've seen from this forum, people seem to put Chillmaw in trash tier. The reason I open the subject again is because I'm founding myself in a dilemma.
Recently I played against a dude who played a Dragon N'Zoth Paladin deck and I instantly fell in love with it. Adding dragons to the deck first of all gives you another Taunt for N'Zoth in Chillmaw and a decent body to boot. This means you can probably cut most (if not all) the (in my opinion at least) jank cards like Infested Tauren, Corrupted Healbot and Twilight Summoner and instead go for some solid midrange beaters. He also ran Deathwing, Dragonlord but I'm not too sure about him. His Deathrattle looks like a liability and he adds another heavy minion to the deck that already has a lot of late game.
Anyway, if I were to build the deck, I would probably start out with something like this:
Now here's the problem: I have dust for 3 legends but I would need to craft both Chillmaw and Rag. I have a decent collection right now but I still miss a couple of key legends, like: Harrison Jones, Bloodmage Thalnos, Lord Jaraxxus and The Black Knight. Still, if Chillmaw proves to be worth the investment I could definitely hold back on those cards. The obvious advise would be to wait, but I really like Hearthstone right now, where the meta hasn't been solved yet, and you can try out a bunch of ideas.
Chillmaw is quite a tech card. Far from being staple....But the pros are that its a 7 cost dragon and that it'll give you many dragon interactions...TBK is not as good, bloodmage is key in most rouge decks and its quite good on shamy or mage. Harrison isn't that good in this meta. IMO bloodmage (if you plan on playing rouge) and then chillmaw.
Chillmaw for me is really good in my Dragon Priest Deck .... and should do well in that N'Zoth deck as those cards have high health to withstand its deathrattle (even if they die, their deathrattle will trigger) and board clear against aggro always comes handy.
Only ting I dont like about your deck is Brann Bronzebeard .... it will be too slow to pull a combo with brann (may end-up dead card).
Come back in a couple of days and tell me how it goes :p
Will do.
I'm testing him both in Paladin and Priest and right now Priest looks a lot stronger than Paladin. I completely forgot how much it sucks playing Paladin and not have anyway to address the board before turn 4. Chillmaw hasn't won me any games yet, but I'm keeping track.
I played in a tourney yesterday and all but once person i played brought patron. Chill maw single handedly won me a few games against it. It's a pretty unique card and is pretty great imo
Honestly there is nothing wrong with chillmaw and it counters the emperors perfectly but the problem is with the dragon decks in general, if you want to play a dragon deck I highly recommend you do that with reno jackson as a paladin. I have had great success with that deck and I must say that even if you wont use a such deck you need truesilver champs in your deck.
The big problem with Chillmaw that Zoos would just silence her and kill you, or they'd kill her and still have all that crap popping out of Deathrattles. Both is less likely with the new expansion.
I've played Dragon Warrior both with and without her, and with is much, much better. Priest needs her less because of Holy Nova / Excavated Evil / Lightbomb, and Mage because of Flamestrike.
I dont like him, i DEed mine a long time ago and never missed it. He seems hard to get real value... As your enemy, its easy take off the value from it. If the enemy has the board, se usually trade his minion with it on a way he keeps the best board possible, making it -in most the the case- just an taunt 6/6 for 7 mana that may damage your minions. Now that Dr7 is gone, it may be a good card for the slot 7. About dragon sinergy, of course, more dragons you get, more % of getting the value, but if you alredy have a lot of dragons in the , it dont make real difference. Against aggro/zoo, priest/paladins have betters ways to clean the board than a deathrattle minion that could be silenced/CCed He was a great when patron was OP as hell, since they didnt run silence, now patron is still good but not worth keeping it just for them. I woundnt craft him unless you really really want to play this deck(Dragons deck are not top tier and hes not a must have in these decks), you should go for safe crafts first.

Nothing wrong with Chillmaw lol.
The question isn't whether or not Chillmaw is good enough, but if the dragon archetype is good enough.

Thanks for the inputs.
I'm convinced. Off to crafting I go.

Harrison and TBK aren't key legends, FYI. They're just good tech cards; no deck ever requires them.
Chillmaw is good but just know that you're not gonna get a lot of mileage out of her. Priest, maybe mage, maybe warlock and warrior.
i been running the deck since set release, i dont think the deck needs rag to be honest.
Chillmaw has always been good in dragon decks so?

I love Chilly! He is even better with Deathwing, Dragonlord - Dragon Paladin has never been so much fun
I crafted her after tgt release for my dragon priest and i think she is really good card for dragon decks
