I think simply running him and your own cthun is a hard counter to other cthun decks. It would only take up 3 slots and you would still get great value.
With the very prohibitive cost, do you think there is room for two of this card in a C'Thun deck, or would it be limited to a 1-of?
i think it would be seen more as a one of, although if you are running Shadowcaster you can be sure that this will be most likely your preferred target. its just so big at 9 mana that it will really clog up your curve otherwise.
This may have been pointed out, maybe not but you can destroy your own minions with this. Kill my own Sylvanas! VALUE. Seriously though, I do like the option to off my own creatures even. Hell I want to put together a deck that plays out the Ancient one just so I can kill it with Blade of C'Thun and give my C'thun +30/+30. Yes I know that is bad and beyond ridiculous, but it would be fun lol.
It so funny how people complains that's 9 mana card. Killing any minion outright + put semi reliable 4/4 in one card is already big swing until you try to assasinate Leppper Gnome. With buffing C'thun it's even better. Compare it to Black Knight, which was instainclude, where taunts were a thing. Ok it's 3 mana less, but effect was more unreliable. There are legendaries, which do far less than that and are still played. For me card is fantastic, there is just problem, that's a rogue specific. This is a class, which already have a hard time with surviving to late game. And now we got both nerf to board clear and took out few defensive tools. So in standard i don't see for now any deck, which would include C'thun in rogue, because it could be too hard to survive that long. In the other hand it could be possible, that C'thun Rogue will work in wild. I know i know - aggro everywhere. But C'thun deck is closer to tempo deck than actual control and we already have few competetive control dekcs (maybe not rogue, but still.) Besides I still belive, that even if meta actually slows down, we still will be facing some heavy aggro decks in standard so it won't be much different from wild in terms of decks archetypes, more in tools, which they could use.
Rogue decks don't work with C'thun as they have no board clear that's good enough for constructed, other class Cthun decks will just be better. At 6 it just might be playable but even then it's not unfair enough so 5 mana would make this card a standard include for rogue decks. Think about it you only want to kill big minions anyways so BGH gives you a 4/2 body for 5 and removal. BGH is neutral and has been historically 3 mana, for a class card that is supposed to be superior to a neutral a 5 mana 4/4 removal has 2 extra health and does roughly the same effect. Maybe 6 mana to be on the cautious side but at 9 mana this card is utter trash. Rogues got nothing this expansion
I disagree with the comments about C'Thun rogue not being a thing due to a lack of healing and AOE clears. I've been playing a tempo C'Thun deck all day. C'Thun is the finisher but you can still end the game without him. The deck relies on single target clears (Shadowstrike, Eviscerate, Backstab, SI:7 and C'Thun's Disciple) to keep the board clear and pressure your opponent. You can use big tempo swings such as Twin Emp, Sap, Dark Iron Skulker and Blade of C'Thun to turn the game in your favour in a way that many other decks can't.
Speaking specifically about Blade of C'Thun, it's definitely a one-of in decks. It would suck to have two of these in your hand early against an aggro deck. That being said, I've already used it to kill an Alex and a Rag, securing games for me. It's got amazing worth because it's a buff to C'Thun, a non-conditional removal and a 4/4 all packed into one card. Since a tempo deck often doesn't draw a ton of cards (I use Fan, Azure and Thalnos), a card like this becomes very useful. I highly recommend people try crafting one.
Powerful, but clunky. Since C'thun Rogue tends to run more draw power than other C'thun decks, you SHOULD have it at the ready when you need it, plus with Shadowcaster you can be putting down Assassinates for 6 mana.
Not as expected! Based on the wording of the Battlecry, you should be able to pick 2 minions to remove but it appears to just double the atk/hp buff. Very disappointing.
All those great battlecries, and no Shadowcaster?
that moment when you Yogg-Saron and burn yourself for lethal....

I think one of these would be sufficient, maybe with Shadowcaster.

Good card design !
How will this interact with Brann Bronzebeard?
i feel like it should buff twice but im not sure.

bad stats, great art, OPOP ability
If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve.
Will this card buff the enemy's C'Thun, as well as yours?

So anyone have opinions on this card?!

It feels so good to see just how wrong 91,5% of you guys were!
