So... I feel that this change will impact rogues in two ways: A: Rogues will finally get way more powerful cards that will let them becomes a top class. Or B: Rogues are now completely unplayable. I'm leaning to the latter... I could understand it not doing damage to the face, but keeping it's cost, but the 4 mana cost tag on it makes this card pretty much unplayable. Oil's cost, but the power of arcane explosion.
That's the thing about rogue, rogues primary weakness is that you CAN zerg them down if you need to, without fear of big board clears, think about it, not all classes can be great at everything, warrior lacks good aggression, druid lacks good hard removal now without big game, and rogue is the class that has less efficient removals, and blade flurry was such a break in that continuity. And hey, mulch is strictly worse than hex, but people play it because it is hard removal, and they lack in that, and likewise, rogues, if they're given good weapons or weapon buffs, will use this, if not for the fact that it is, if nothing else, a board clear that works. And again, we cannot look at rogue/weapon combos the same as others, because they can have multi turn setup. And if you're one of those people that thinks that comparing cross class is a good idea, reconsider.
Oil Rogue has been my favourite deck since GvG launched and I actually don't mind this change. With oil Rogue you basically waited to get your combo and to kill your opponent in one turn. Even if you played like shit the whole game you could still win just because of the burst damage.
Removing burst damage is good thing. It makes matches a lot more interesting and more skill based IMO. ^^
if you play like shit with oil rogue you will lose. If you play average with oil rogue you will lose. Oil rogue is a deck that demands near mistake free play to win.
Oil is getting swapped out, so why would they nerf this card? Mana nerf and damage nerf? Kill Rogue already instead of making it suffer. Blizaard you are a "cold" person.
HAHAHAHA. I'm the first who called for a nerf on this card, but this is ludicrously bad. It's much, much worse than Shadow Flame. The nerf simply should have been "Deal damage to enemy minions.", so you can't attack face and blade flurry for ridiculous burst damage. But 4 mana on top? Wtf are they smoking. It really seems that the designer have the least clue about the game. Amazing.
RIP rougue. This nerf on top of the shit cards it's getting from Whispers of the old gods just buried this already sorry class 6 feet under and then pissed on the tomb stone. GG blizzard
I'm kind of surprised by this one. Ironbeak Owl and Knife Juggler were barely touched, but a key card for a struggling class was rendered completely unplayable? I'm assuming the remaining unrevealed cards from WotOG contain some pretty strong buffs for Rogue. Otherwise, this just seems needlessly cruel.
Because, you know, Rogue was such a good class and this nerf was so badly needed, particularly with Oil rotating out of the meta.
Yea god forbid Rogues do something else for the first time in 2 years.

And is only boderline trash because it has minions like Nerubian egg and Shredder from naxx and GVG, I don`t even know how to describe how bad the deck will be in standard.
Big nerf, but I guess it now opens the way for more powerful Rogue weapons since the support got nerfed.
This. Rogue is a class meant to equip weapons. They can't design a ton of weapons at the moment due to Blade Flurry.

Having a weapon equipped makes your hero power useless. Weapon cards are therefore not as strong as with warrior. Rogues are in a shitty place right now design-wise. Even with strong weapons, you're going to take face damage to remove all the minions without a good reliable AoE.

Why nerf this when oil is going out in standard anyways?
Blade Flurry nerf is an overkill. This kills powerful rogue deck like Oil Rogue and Malygos Rogue. My two favorite Rogue decks are dead. FeelsBadMan

I'm so happy this card is going. Being able to deal 8damage aoe/complete board clear + 8 damage face is something that should never be possible.
They could just delete the card from the game, whatsoever. They made this card unplayable, both clear-wise and mana-wise...
