Whoever designed Jade Idol and thought it was a good and healthy card for the game has clearly never played HS.
I'm just another one of those. You know, those who do things. Things that need to be done by those that do these things in order to do those things that don't do these things themselves. Has the word 'things' lost meaning to you already?
Still better than stand against darkness, So I'm fine with that. Now it fits into token druid rather than combo. I do wish they maybe made it so that it can only hit minions (good removal, and the combo is now a worse flamestrike) because that would be some nice removal but whatever
I'm actually happy with this, it's a reasonable card. Only complaint is that in a way the card feels completely different, going from a source of damage to a source of on board stats.
Honestly very surprised. I imagined the Warsong Commander treatment where this card would never see the light of day again. A 5 mana 6/6 over 3 bodies... is actually reasonable. No longer a broken combo piece but something you might actually consider when standard power level is reduced in a spell deck or in very niche decks. Arguably better for arena now.
SR has a legitimate use in Druid decks by swarming the board with tokens and then getting lethal when your opponent fails to clear, FON was only ever good as an awkward last ditch removal card and for enabling combo.
Taking Roar up to 4 mana (putting it on par with Bloodlust in Shaman, same effect with 1 less attack per minion) would have had similar impact, with added bonus of making it harder to double Roar with Innervate.
Honestly, I was expecting a much lighter nerf, increasing the cost of the card so that the combo would be impossible without Thaurissan or Innervate, but this is far better.
I expect Druid will go back to being a major ramp/control class, but with the disadvantage that their only major removal, Mulch, isn't seeing play. I guess Druid can join Paladin at the bottom of tier lists for Standard.
