A solid, mediocre minion. Except that I was hoping Priest would acquire more Deathrattle and/or "End of Turn" minions to combo with Herald Volazj. In that regard this new card may be part of a new Priest deck archetype.
Ain't that the truth! Sick of Priests always stealing everything. If you want to play someone else's deck so bad, then pick a different deck! Priest's cards are so bad they have to rely on other people's cards lol
This is a really bad card. I don't understand what the deal is with all the terrible cards priest has gotten in this set. Not one of the Priest cards shown so far looks definitively good or certain to see play.
Ok, lets break this card down and look at all the reasons why its terrible. Lets say that, since Thoughtsteal is 3 mana that this effect, getting a card from your opponent's deck is worth 1.5 mana. Now that's not actually true since Thoughtsteal is basically just a worse version of Arcane Intellect and Priests have Power Word: Shield but whatever. That leaves it at about 0.7 mana for this effect if we're being generous. So, how much is a 4/3 worth. Not 3 mana, I'll tell you that much. For most classes probably 2.6 mana, maybe even 2.4 since cards like Wrathguard (and I guess Succubus) don't see play. For Priest, its probably worth even less since higher health is so much more important for Priest. Dark Cultist is a 3/4 which is better stat distribution but It still only barely made it into some decks. You can argue that that's because the 3-slot is very crowded for Priests but who's to say the 4-slot isn't just as full. You've already got Auchenai Soulpriest, Elise Starseeker and Holy Champion as major contenders.
So what do we have? We have a 2.3 mana body with a 0.7 mana effect. Lets say that since you're packaging them together that's an extra 0.5 mana. So we get that Shifting Shade is a minion with an estimated value of 3.5 mana that costs instead 4. That's not very good. On top of that you don't even get the card immediately. You have to wait for it to die. And we haven't even started seriously comparing it to other cards. Compare Shifting Shade to Polluted Hoarder which is a card most have agreed is not very good. You're getting 1 more health but a worse card and its in a class that would never want to run Polluted Hoarder. I can't believe so many people are so blind to how bad this card is.
When Amaz was streaming with Trump earlier this week they were asking about each others cards. Trump asked Amaz if his card was good and he responded "yeah, its actually pretty good." Coincidentally that's the same thing he said about Curse of Rafaam. Amaz is a joke. He's not a good person. He tries to cheat people out of what's rightfully theirs. He's not even good at the game.
How could any of you ever vote for him? This card is punishment from beyond for not voting for Princess Huhuran.
I don't get why people are so sceptical about this card... Is garbage? Will never see play? lol...
This card is really good, it's kinda like half of a thoughtsteal (1.5 mana) and a 4/3 (2.5 mana). Would you play this card in a Control Priest? Maybe not but that's not the point. The card by itself is good and I can totally see it in a Mindrange-ish deck. I like cards that inspire new archetype decks and this is one of those cards.
It's funny to me that people are rating this above frost caller.
Both are equally unplayable.
lol..... this card is much better than frost caller, as priests are playing more controlecenter game, where card advantage is a big part of the game plan, therefore a 4/3 minion at 4 mana is playable, as it doesn't cost a card!
You would never put either in an actual deck. Both of them are terrible. I already explained in a different comment all the ways in which this card is terrible. You can see it in the spoiler below

I know you want to sound scientific and stuff, but basically you've just made up a much of numbers to support your opinion.
I'm not saying this card is great, but I don't think it's unplayable.

I guess this is yet another subtle hint by Blizzard that they didn't really think thoroughly the development of Piloted Shredder. The term OP is quite overused these days, but I think in the shredder's case, it's more than justified.

This is so inaccurate, holy shit... A 2.3 body and 0.7 effect? for real? lol Why are you talking about Wrathguard and Succubus? They cost 2 mana ok, but aren't you forgeting something? They have a negative effect don't they? So, following that logic a 8/8 body is worth only 5 mana since fel reaver only costs 5. LOL
I personally think this card is just not that good. In fact, as a primary priest player, I've been extremely disappointed by all the priest cards revealed so far.
The easiest comparison I can make to this card is Gorillabot A-3, which is almost better than Shifting Shade in every way. For starters, the stat distribution is better. A 3/4 is better than a 4/3 hands down. Second, it's a battlecry instead of a deathrattle and while this can be debatable as to whether that's better or not, you are guaranteed to get your card (assuming you meet the condition which I'll get to in a second). Third, it's a discovery so you get to pick the best option of 3 potentials. The only downside to Gorillabot is you have to have a mech already in play but if that condition is met, it's just better in nearly every way.
I cannot ever see putting this card in a constructed deck. Even after standard when half the current card pool is removed, there's still other 4 drops I'd rather use for my priest. I really hate to say it, but I feel like priests are getting the extremely short end of the stick with this expansion.
4 mana minion gets killed by a 2 cost minion, BUT you have the possibility to get some pretty insane stuff. RNG or not, this card replaces itself in most situations and therefore its 1000% playable.
can someone answer how the interaction of getting the card is? do you get to see every card in there deck when it dies? or only ones that have been played or are in hand? cause seeing every card in opponents deck is pretty good. or is it just random?
It's funny to me that people are rating this above frost caller.

C'mon, 8/8 is definitely 0 because molten giants, you know :)
need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.
Arena Card. Difficult to find a place in a constructed deck
A solid, mediocre minion. Except that I was hoping Priest would acquire more Deathrattle and/or "End of Turn" minions to combo with Herald Volazj. In that regard this new card may be part of a new Priest deck archetype.
Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
Randuin just got even more random.
good card :D
9/10
good stats, nice artwork, crazy ability
If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve.
So half a thoughtsteal plus a body on the board. Also a good curator pickup
