This is one of those cards that is probably either broken good or not good enough for play. I'm leaning towards broken good, but rogue needed some help bad, so I'm pretty happy with this card.
I think people don't realize how slow the card is. It's certainly good and I am interested to see what people are going to do with it, but as posters earlier in the thread have stated, if your Malygos/Anub'arak/C'thun etc. have survived through the turn after you played them, this is just a win more card because you probably already have depleted your opponents resources and/or board enough to where they are barely still alive anyway.
I could definitely see this doing some cool stuff (mill rogue as people mentioned earlier is way more realistic) just don't go and assume copying your 8/9/10 drops is going to be a normal occurrence.
Problem is it doesn't pass the stats test. Stats are poor for cost and unless you copy something of amazing value the 1 mana 1/1 is also very bad stats. The text on said minion will have to be insane to make up for the tempo loss. Certainly a build around epic. Will it see play, who knows? Weak bodies traditionally don't see play unless their effect is extremely good. Not convinced.
Hi, my name is Azure Drake, and I am a staple in every Rogue deck ever made, and I have 4/4 stats too.
Hi I'm azure drake I have an insane effect I draw a card and give + 1 spell power and I don't need another body on the board.
I'd play azure drake over this anyday.
You'd take drawing a random card over choosing exactly what card to draw?
Yes, because Azure drake also comes with +1 Spell damage which is very good in rogue. It doesn't draw a random card it draws a card from your deck of specific cards getting you closer to your win condition and more giving you more options. Also with this card you don't get to "choose a card to draw" you have to have another minion you actually want to copy into a 1 mana 1/1 which is completely different.

I have the feeling you have no idea what you talking and simple trying to sound smart by copying something Trump will say, stats wise this card is ok you are paying 4 mana for 4/4 and 1 mana for the battle cry, wtf kind of stats "test" you are talking the most similar card is Azure Drake to compare stats and they are pretty similar in power level, comments like are just misleading and lack of real knowledge.
I'm just making the point that low stats for the mana cost often (not always) don't see play. Its not 4 mana for a 4/4 and 1 mana for the battlecry. You can't arbitrarily split it out like that its a 5 mana 4/4 with an effect. 4/4 is low for a 5 mana card. Azure drake is played at this stat level because it has a borderline OP effect (as pointed out, it's a staple in lots of decks), all I'm saying is the effect of the 1/1 you copy will have to be extremely high value (like azure drake) and I'm not convinced that its good enough. Don't get me wrong it looks good but until we see it in action.
No it's not haha. The only advantage to shadowcaster is battlecry. Herald can copy more than one minion and plays it for you. Both are slightly below vanilla and need a board to be good. The class difference, however, is what makes this a decent card.
if my math is correct with Shadowcaster plus Brann Bronzebeard andShadowstep plusThistle Tea and Gang Up you can make a potential 18 moreColdlight Oracle from the origional 2 giving you 20 total which is well basically impossible to pull off but its also more than you would ever need potential still shows i think you will at least see a 1 of in mill decks.
Effect is quite powerful, but everybody is only talking about the dream situations. Not to hate, but if you don't actually have that minion (at 5 mana you're quite likely to not play them in the same turn), then this card loses a lot of value. In that sense, seems like a win-more card if I'm honest.
But there will be good players that can make good decks and make this card work... maybe not 100% consistent, but somewhat consistently. I like the design itself very much, but I'm no Rogue player.

I'm just another one of those. You know, those who do things. Things that need to be done by those that do these things in order to do those things that don't do these things themselves. Has the word 'things' lost meaning to you already?
Yea! I think! The great combo deck is real!

You expects two more turns after malygos conceal?

This is my favorite card announced thus far.
This card is very interesting and promising.
Way better, than Priest's legendary.
"The light shall burn you!" - heals face.
This will probably see play in mill rogue, that earns 2 more Shadowsteps. If you run Brann, you can:
Shadowstepped Coldlight Oracle (1) + Brann (3) + Shadowcaster on Coldlight (5) + 1/1 Coldlight (1)
In order for you not to mill yourself, these are the changes to your hand
1. Draw 4 cards (+4)
2. Play a card (+3)
3. Generate 2 cards (+5)
4. Play a card (+4)
5. Draw 4 cards (+8)
You can always forfeit the last play in order not to mill yourself.

My mandibles which are capable of pressing down and tearing, my talons which are known to intercept and hold.
The Cthun given with this would still get the buffs from the regular one, it just starts at 1/1 instead of 6/6. Overall pretty sweet card
That's actually not bad lol...10 mana for a 4/4 and 5 1/1s, plus you still have one in your hand.
Anyone know if copied Raptors would retain their deathrattles?
Malygos , Emperor Thaurissan and Arch Thief Rafaam intensifies
