I finally have 1600 dust to craft my next legendary. It's going to be from the either Classic or Grand Tournament sets because I don't have the patience to craft one from WOTG, but I don't know which one to pick that will be most useful to me in standard. I already have Antonidas, Tirion, Prophet Velen, Jaraxxus, Grommash, Thalnos, Harrison Jones, Leeroy, Sylvannas, Rag, Alexstrasza, Malygos, Justicar, and Ysera.
Right now I'm eyeing Chillmaw, Varian, Aviana, Gormok, Nexus-Champion Saraad, Edwin VanCleef, and Baron Geddon. Which of these should I craft before Standard arrives? Any other suggestions?
Crafting viable classic set legendaries should be a priority over expansion set legends if you think you'll be playing for a while. Baron Geddon is actually pretty good I think. Especially with Dr. Boom out of the picture, he could find his way into a bunch of decks. He currently competes with Dr. Boom in control warrior, so you can expect to see him with the standard change. Personally though, I also use him in my majordomo mage, but he seems like a solid control card that will remain pretty viable over time.
Shaman is likely to be strong in Standard, so maybe Al'Akir is a good choice. It's fallen off a bit but it used to be a core card in midrangey Shaman builds. Similarly, Cenarius might find new ground in Standard.
Of the ones you mentioned, none of them are particularly competitive but Aviana and Saraad might fit into some Whispers lists. Gormok currently sees play in some Zoo builds.
100% Nexus-Champion Saraad because it's one of the best tech cards which can be used in any type of deck. I personally don't own one but I would definitely choose Saraad because it's so versatile.
Saraad is not a "tech card". Tech cards are cards are cards you add to counter certain decks, like BGH. He's ok in slow decks that plan on hero powering a lot (CW, most Reno decks). I like him in Combo Druid but you won't see that very often.
Crafting Cenarius or Al'Akir now "because they might come back" is silly. Craft them when they come back. (If ever...)
Chillmaw: I keep adding and removing her from my dragon decks. Decks that she is supposed to help against (Zoo) just have a too easy time to neutralize her, and for Patron, she's often one turn too late.
Varian: still waiting for the right deck to play him
Aviana: Played in Astral Communion Druid, a weird deck that currently has its 15 minutes of fame
Gormok: Played, but optional in Zoolock
Edwin VanCleef: Saw him for like 2 days recently when that Rogue recipe was released. I'm 2-0 against that deck
Baron Geddon: Played in classic CW, but most recent versions only use Justicar, Grommash and Elise.
You're now in the territory where you already have all cards you need for competitive play. Any card you craft is mostly for fun...

Why should you craft something before WotOG? Wait for expansion, see, which legendaries will be good , and craft them :)
This. I bet alot of people will regret not waiting a few weeks for the expansion and doubly so when their crafted legendary doesn't fit the new meta after the expansion. What's the hurry? If he really can't wait, I guess Geddon but there's a good chance he's just going to be out 1600 dust.
Just wait, the expansion is only 2 weeks away! Nerfs should be announced in less time than that. I've been sitting on over 4k dust for a while now.. yea it's hard, but will be worth the wait. Even if you "hate" all the new cards that have been announced (not saying that 'you' said this, but seems to be a current theme from some), once all the 134 cards are out, those opinions/insights could change and you'll be wishing you had 1600 dust instead of Baron Geddon - yea he's cool, but you already have a lot of great staples. (but if you absolutely cannot wait, I wouldn't craft a TGT legendary at this point: Geddon is the top pick from your list)

Thank you guys! I'm leaning toward Baron Geddon but still unsure. Would appreciate any other insight.
