Guys, there's a huge issue I've had with the game for awhile and it's never ever talked about. It's the existence of this stupid card Captain's Parrot. Yes the parrot. The parrot is the WORST CARD IN HEARTHSTONE. There is no card in the game that is more worthless than Captain's parrot. It's literally a worse version of Novice Engineer. When you're drawing cards, more often than not, you want to draw a spell or a weapon over a minion, so even in a pirate deck, you would play novice engineer. Captain's Parrot has literally never been played in a single deck, including pirate decks since the hearthstone beta.
Why does this matter to me? BECAUSE IT'S A BEAST. Not only is it a beast, but it's also a non-collectable, difficult to get card. For some reason, even though it's unobtainable, you get it from Webspinner and it's a total joke when you get it because it basically puts you at a disadvantage because you played a 1 1 that did nothing, and you almost never end up playing it the whole game. This is especially frustrating when you're actually trying to play an interesting underplayed Ball of Spiders deck. It's the Doomsayer of webspinners, only it's not even visible. And guys I'm one of the most unlucky players, I get a ton of these little ****ers! Don't believe me? Played a game as Astral Communion druid yesterday. Got off communion, top deck double innervates, then i play nefarion, get 2x Demonfuse (see below)
What can we do to fix this abomination of a card because it NEEDS to go? I have 3 suggestions:
1. change the text to 2 mana 1 1 beast battlecry: DISCOVER a pirate. That would make it really good and create really interesting and wacky games when you play a lot of webspinners, plus with the added benefit of being able to actually play him in a pirate deck, which was the entire reason why they came up with the card! This would also keep its crappy 1 1 body when you get it from Piloted Shredder (this is a GOOD thing. Screw piloted shredder!)
2. the less fun, make it have 2 2 stats or 3 2 or 2 3 stats. It'd maybe be played with pirates and it'd be ok enough to not complain when you get it from webspinner.
3. Or just remove it completely! (Remember. The vast majority of players don't even have access to this card because you need 2 specific epics, a couple of rares and a legendary to get it).
Bad tribal cards are left in the game to balance cards like webspinner. You take a gamble, sometimes you get crazy good beasts and sometimes you get crap
There are a lot of cards far worse than Captain's parrot.
Just as a reminder, this card is the first tutor effect of the game and if they print a broken pirate or one with some kind of great situationnal effect, then this card will be a must have.
What makes a "tutor" card good? What situation would you rather draw a pirate than any other card? If there was even a card that was "battlecry: draw your dr boom" it'd still be bad imo. And what cards are worse than captain's parrot? it's got half its mana in stats and a worthless ability.
Will Reward set cards such as Gelbin Mekkatorque and Old Murk-Eye be part of Wild or Standard format? All current Reward set cards, including Promo cards, will be restricted to Wild format.
When Standard format arrives, the Captain’s Parrot and Old Murk-Eye cards won’t be given for collecting their associated classic cards, but can instead be crafted (and disenchanted).
Acquiring the Promo cards Gelbin Mekkatorque and Elite Tauren Chieftain remains unchanged: the normal versions of these cards can still be crafted or disenchanted, while the golden versions were acquired via special events and cannot be disenchanted or crafted.
I'm pretty sure the whole point of Captain's Parrot these days is only to weaken the power of cards like Webspinner or Ram Wrangler. It'd be pretty stupid if they didn't have that type of high risk, high reward imo since it would pretty much make the card a lot of stronger if the crappy beasts were removed. It's kind of even the range between really good and really bad in the midrange decks that use them. Some of the better beast to get would probably be King Krush or Gahz'rilla while the weaker ones are Captain's Parrot and I guess another Webspinner.
Funny thing you would post this. I'm actually considering crafting the last missing pirate, Captain Greenskin, to get my hands on the Captain's Parrot before you no longer get the reward. Do you get 2 copies as the reward? Granted the card isn't exactly top tier, but it's sorta viable in a pirate deck... sorta? I run both Rogue and Paladin pirate decks. Really hoping for some kick-arse pirate in the old gods.
Did you know that Blizzard have nerfed the parrot btw? Amazing what they decide to nerf, eh? It used to be 1/2.
Oh, and I vote they buff the parrot into playability ofc. Not holding my breath it will happen tho. No point buffing old cards when you can just print new ones that'll earn you a profit ya know ;-)

yeah you get 2 copies, I also should've mentioned that they could just make the parrot a pirate instead of a beast, that'd actually make it playable with the synergy and remove the control hunter misfortune. Also I know for a fact they're adding some new female goblin pirate.
Captain's Parrot has literally never been played in a single deck, including pirate decks since the hearthstone beta.
And how do you know? Out of the billions beyond billions out Hearthstone matches and decks ever made, at least once has every single card in the game been used. Even cards that have been used in 1 out of the 25936908568903465890453690653490659043867 (hypothetical number) decks ever made have still been used in one deck.
It's like saying "out of the entire population and everyone that has every lived, not a single person ever has done X". As long as it's theoretically possible, there's probably at least one time it has ever happened.
When people say stuff like "X card" isn't played or was never played, they don't mean it has played literally 0 times in any deck, it just hasn't been seen in competitive play. Even some of the worst cards in the game (Magma Rager, Hemet Nesingwary, Eye for an Eye, Poisoned Blade, etc.) has been used at least 1 time ever in any deck ever made ever.

Pirates are my favorite tribe. I play Captain's Parrot all the time. I'm actually going to miss Parrot, it's gotten me a clutch lethal with Captain Greenskin or Southsea Deckhand more than a few times, or pulling a Dread Corsair can be a lifesaver too. Of course, the parrot is mostly shit for everyone else, because nobody fucking plays pirates these days apart from a few fringe pirate aggro rogue decks.

yeah but Captain's Parrot hasn't even been used in casual decks lol. Mostly because by the time people actually have all the cards to get the parrot, their collection is decent enough that they 1. don't even have the desire to be playing pirates and 2. already have much better cards to put in a pirate deck lol. I personally have played over 10K games, and I have seen all of those cards played at least once including poisoned blade a whopping 2x, but I have yet to see the parrot played 1 single time other than from a webspinner. And that card's been there since release
This is the weirdest and most misinformed salt thread I've ever seen on Hearthpwn. Well done kiddo.
Look at me. I'm going to go on the forums and just tell someone they're stupid. And I'm going to tell them they're so stupid that I don't even need to explain to them why they're stupid because they're just that freaking stupid! - The one guy on every single forum.

Well it wont be in standard. So, wish granted?

Who's the Beatdown?
You'll get 100 dust for each when standard hits.
Now give us some good pirates, Blizz.

Depends on what cards might be released in the future, a lot of cards a worth a re-visit once an expansion hits.
When I looked up "Ninjas" in Thesaurus.com, it said "Ninja's can't be found" Well played Ninjas, well played.
