arcane nullifier was there and never really saw play I expect this card to be similar.. since the stats are quite bad for a 9 drop..
The Nullifier effect becomes increasingly more powerful the bigger a minion you put it on. 2 Attack is nothing but 5 Attack is a lot and you need to commit raw minion damage to it. 9 damage is hard to do without spells. Keep in mind that until they do 9 damage they can't even attack your other minions.
In constructed it will see about as much play as Faerie Dragon or Spectral Knight (ie none).
Spectral Knight actually saw play in constructed for some time prior to GvG because it was a decently sized body that wasn't easily dealt with by control decks. I wouldn't immediately dismiss this card. The spell immunity text becomes more powerful the bigger a minion you put it on. The taunt also holds a surprising amount of importance.
For the mana cost, rarity, stats...gotta say this is underwhelming. This might be the tipping point towards me NOT spending $49.99 for the 50 packs purchase. A lot of these WOG cards are downright unexciting for me or too restrictive to actually be exciting enough and this is just shitty. EXPLETIVE EXPLETIVE BLIZZARD EXPLETIVE!
Interesting card. It's decent in decks that are combo oriented since it can setup some turn 10 play that is so much harder to deal with. Like dropping an old god. Think will be expirimented with but as the dark knight rises, this card will FALL.
Spectral Knight is a 5 mana 4/6 with spell immunity. 10 points of stats for 5 mana. Right on par for it's cost.
Arcane Nullifier X-21 is a 4 mana 2/5 TAUNT with spell immunity. 7 points of stats for 5 mana. (1 stat point below curve total since our 4 mana vanilla taunt Taz'Dingo has one more attack).
Now we have Soggoth the Slitherer. A 9 mana 5/9 Taunt with Spell Immunity. The large the minion, the more spell immunity benefits it. So 9 mana should be roughly 16-18 points of stats. Most 9 mana minions are actually below curve (Nefarian, Ysera, Mal'ganis) in terms of their stats (8/8, 4/12, 9/7) but have very powerful effects. So we can safely assume that most 9 mana minions will be 8/8 (roughly) with a powerful effect. So this guy is 14 stats worth of points for 9 mana. Which is 4 points below value, however taunt makes up for 1-2 points of this, and spell immunity probably at least 1-2 points as well.
Overall, I think he's pretty balanced for what he is supposed to be: A wall. High health, unable to be removed except by straight board control or battlecry effects or AoE Spells.

The question is: is this enough to put this card in your deck and also use this minion and waste a whole turn for it? and here i say no, it isn't enough. If you need to put a taunt on the field, you are far behind at this stage of the game. And here you don't want a taunt, you want rather a board wipe.
From the lore, this is supposed to be the guy who slew all the giants!? He can barely trade with one giant on his own, and only if there is no Whirlwind or a Paladin dude. This is sooo bad.
At 8 mana, ok.
As an 8/9, ok,
With battlecry: "Destroy a Giant" or better "Destroy an epic rarity minion"?

400.
Hall of Fame (ignore list): aleathas, Baylith, cendol, DiamondDM13, Dominieq, doomr, glitterprincess, hamtarofr, Heck, Jwigg33, Kaladin, Krewger, Legend_Entomber, libertyprime, Maukiepaukie, PandarenHero, randjob, s2mikey, SchruteBucks, The_Giratina, TheWamts, ticandtac, tictactucroc, tsudecimo, WaffleMonstr
Too little stats. For 9 mana minion should have 19 stats (like for 4 mana we have Yeti's, for 5 - Pit Fighter), -1 for Taunt (Ironbark Protector), -1 for spell immunity (Spectral Knight) like Arcane Nullifier X-21.
17 stats, how much do we have here? 14. Not playable, even in arena you likely get something better. Should be 6/11 or 7 mana.
Seems a bit too expensive for what it is.
You are not prepared!
Still sucks against owl. :(

The truth about Illuminati.dec
Good with yogg-saron. Only aoe can kill this guy

like people said its like Arcane Nullifier X-21 but thats a 4 mana 2/5 for this your paying 5 more mana for 3/4 more of stats? not worth it
also people compared it to Spectral Knight a 5 mana 4 /6 ... so your paying 4 more mana for 1/3 more of stats plus taunt? still doesnt seem worth it
if it was 5/10 or 5/11 or even 6/9 it would be way better
Let's look at the stat breakdown.
Spectral Knight is a 5 mana 4/6 with spell immunity. 10 points of stats for 5 mana. Right on par for it's cost.

For 9 Mana you can use simply Spectral Knight + Defender of Argus and you can even buff another minion with taunt and +1/+1 too.
this is one of the worst legends i've ever seen. uninspired, boring, just bad. this has overtaken boogeymonster as worst legendary in the set so far.

AMAZING. This, however? Fuck it.
*facepalm* you have arcane nullifier x-21...
By the fel armies of Sargeras... FOR THE BURNING LEGION!
This just after Ragnaros the Firelord is a sweet wincondition, if your opponent can't deal with Ragnaros and he proceeds to heal Soggoth.
Also Right after Soggoth you can follow up with Nzoth and can get Tirion, Sylvanas and Cairne.
If this should fail, you can also get him out of Y'Shaarj and then start building your board.
Neither of those cards can target him, so at least there's that....but still horrible horrible card.
