Acording to blue post this card doesn't care what you casted. It cares how many spells you casted. From all spells in the game it pick a random spell equal to spells casted. It can choose 1 mana spells or 10 mana spells.
I think the are more beneficial spells in the game. however if the board is full i think this is an oh shit button.
It can also lead to a double kill. Pyroblasts / fireballs to both faces.
This card is terrible for competitive play. His effect is completely random and will help you 50% of the time and help the opponent 50% of the time.
Thats simply not true. Secrets will always be helpful.
I've run the simulator a fair few times with 5 spells, and its working out ok: Take for example:
Wrath: Choose One - Deal $3 damage to a minion; or $1 damage and draw a card.
Commanding Shout: Your minions can't be reduced below 1 Health this turn. Draw a card.
Soul of the Forest: Give your minions "Deathrattle: Summon a 2/2 Treant."
Blessing of Kings: Give a minion +4/+4. (+4 Attack/+4 Health)
Battle Rage: Draw a card for each damaged friendly character.
2 of those could go both ways (wrath and Blessing) the others work out great.
or
Heroic Strike: Give your hero +4 Attack this turn.
Sacred Trial: Secret: After your opponent has at least 3 minions and plays another, destroy it.
Raven Idol: Choose One -Discover a minion; or Discover a spell.
Shadow Word: Pain: Destroy a minion with 3 or less Attack.
Pyroblast: Deal $10 damage.
Ok Pyroblast to face would be awful, but then it might work the other way. SW:P could back fire too.
But a lot of the cards (like arcane missle for example), say 'enemies' on them, so they will always work for you.
Perhaps I misunderstood the effect. I thought the card can be cast by Yogg for either hero - so for example if he picks a Secret, there is a 50% chance the Secret is cast for you and a 50% chance it is cast for the enemy. Same for spells like Arcane Intellect.
But if they are always cast for you, then yes, I would agree the changes of it being good for you becomes much higher.
I think this Card was made to ensure Trolden Videos for at least another 2 years. Stats are BS, effect is inconsistent and there is a reasonable Chance that you might kill yourself (I am waiting for the first Video involving X Pyroblasts to the face).
Maybe we have to see the Card as a hail Mary. When you are basically dead and have one more turn it can make crazy things happen but that is it (its Kind of it the Name: "Hopes End" XD XD XD)
This card can actually be played in Control Warrior, where you play up to 12 spells.
Elise Warrior works just fine too, as you play even more spells in that deck.
But is it good? Needs some testing.
How do you test it? The effect is pure randomness… You have some good things obviously like the Secrets or the card draw but it still completely unpredictable and dumb.
Reha has nobody mentioned the renojacksonpotential. It often happens (for example vs zoolock) that you Reno And 2 turns later just die anyways cause you can't establish boardcontrole. With Many minions on Board the spells likely hit them.
The more I look at the simulations. The more I see potential in at least being tried out at least for a short while. It's one of the cards that can either win or lose you the game, which the "Hopes End" part of the cards name makes sense. This card will be one of the kings of RNG.
Play against freeze mage, have this card in hand, Mage has guaranteed Ice Block as its secret at a low enough life that a damage spell or two would win you the game. You know you will lose next turn after being burned by Alexstrasza. Play this card and hope the RNG is in your favor for a Flare to pop up and win you the game with any damage spell or an Ice Block/Healing Wave/Counterspell of your own so they can't burn you down for at least another turn.
Thank you for answer about overload. btw I found this twit https://twitter.com/PlayHearthstone/status/718195512386678786 Currently it does not grant you Overload, but this is something we still discussing and may change in the future. (c) So it's still may change.

All cards are balanced, but some cards are more balanced than others.
It says cast a spell for each spell cast right? so it doesnt necessarily mean played from hand? If so, does that mean that the counter for "each spell cast" is also increased if Yogg was returned and played again?
For ex.
I played 10 spells already, then i play yogg -> yogg casts 10 random spells -> I cast shadowstep on yogg -> play him next turn. Does the spell counter goes up to 20? or is it still just 10 the 2nd time i play him.
I like the casino mage idea there. You setup the 1 damage a hit armor, which wont turn off until the battlecry is over even if it gets fireballed, so that even if every spell you dont want to hit you is mitigated, then drop this and let the insanity happen. Its not a completely horrible card, its just something you have to be careful about playing.

life is boring if you always play carefully, sometimes all we need is to go full retard.

In Control Warrior you need to be certain about what moves you are going to make and when. This card does the COMPLETE opposite, so I really don't understand what you mean.
An answer to a previous question: spells are directed randomly if they don't have a specific target, so it can go to your face, the opponent's, or on a minion. For example a series of "deal damage" spells such as Fireball or a series of heals such as Healing Wave might end up anywhere. As for overload, at the moment they are thinking of not overloading the player of Yogg Saron, but that's still under consideration. (edit: already answered)

Yogg casts his spell not you. Cast count is for spell YOU casted

Can someone tell me, please, will my mana crystals be overloaded next turn, if Yogg-Saron use spells with overload?

pyroblast to your face! GG WP
btw... really crazy card. will love to play it :D
