You would think it would have some other effect on top of it or at least give C'Thun +4/+4 considering its a rare. Rare cards aren't usually this plain.
I wouldn't mind giving the card a Taunt but I think having a +4/+4 buff to C'Thun would make this card OP. Just playing 2 of these in your deck would be enough to buff C'Thun to a 14/14 and that's pretty insane without playing any other cultist in the deck.
6 mana 7/6 in 6+ turns deal 4 damage randomly split seems perfectly fair. The raw stats on C'Thun stop mattering after a certain point because if your opponent has removal, its dead anyway and if it gets to attack, its going to hit for a lot anyway.
A 10 mana 14/14 deal 14 damage randomly split is a good 10 drop and better than other 10 drops in the game but its still just a good card. You wouldn't build a whole deck with bad cards just to get 1 good card. You would do it for an INSANE card but at 14/14 C'Thun isn't insane yet.
I'm glad that they're lowering the power level of cards but i'm also mad that they're lowering the power level of cards. Yes, I know this is a reversed Ogre, but this can die to something like Fireball, so I think it's probably worse.
Pretty bad. I don't expect it to see any play in any of the competitive C'Thun decks regardless of what happens to BGH. Hunter and Shaman will never play it. Other classes still have to contend with Emperor, Justicar, and Sylvannas. And this doesn't even include other 6 drop minions to be spoiled in this set.

Agree. It's ok to lower the power compared to Naxx or GVG, but a lot of the cards released are crap that you would never run even compared to classic/basic cards.
Yawn...boring. How many of these give your cthun +2/2 cards are there going to be? They're the same just with different mana costs and vanilla stats for each cost. Not very creative.
If you put this in a Rogue deck with Gang Ups, then clearly you will beat any deck greedy enough to consider 7 attack minions or Legendaries. It's science.

People are talking about Big Game Hunter , like they dont already know that after the release of the cards Big Game Hunter will not have the text "Battlecry: Destroy a minion with 7 or more attack".....Hahahahahahha they still think that Big Game Hunter will destroy 7+ attack minion ahahahahahahah....Sorry guys but Big Game Hunter after the release will be just 400 dust because it will be worth 400 dust after the nerf to disenchant him , not 100 dust
Still dies to Shadow Word: Death. Literally unplayable.

I very much hope they don't completely destroy BGH. My personal favorite nerf option would be to destroy a minion with attack 8 or more, instead of 7 or more
This simple change opens up a significant amount of design space, PLUS does not require a subsequent nerf to any of the giants

That's too specific Sir....so Lets just dont play any minions on board to counter the combo Wild Pyromancer + Equality
We should also consider in the Warrior matchup that anything you play dies to Armorsmith+Brawl since she will inevitably win it every time. All minions confirmed as trash tier now.

Here are my two cents for the Skeram Cultist and all of the other "C'Thun buffer" cards.
I think that is good they can at least stand by themselves as viable vanilla minions. Even if this one turns out to be the worse stated so far. But here is the rub with piling extra effects on these minions, which is why it is excusable for them to be a little boring: If they do too much, C'Thun would easily take over the meta.
Take C'Thun's Chosen. People are already looking at it like Piloted Shredder 0.75. If Beckoner of Evil picked up say Flame Juggler's effect (for hypothetical purposes) and Skeram Cultist had taunt, deathrattle, or some such thing, eventually you have a set of cards that can help a possibly insane legendary, and they themselves come close enough to being game breaking in their own right.
Yes, Skeram Cultist is competing with some high quality 6 drops (who on effect alone kick his teeth in), but if the meta slows down (sinking a Big Game Hunter into this is value anyway tbh), he might be seen in a few decks. I know C'Thun Warrior might like him the most (as a 1 of), for the sake of pushing C'Thun over the top for Ancient Shieldbearer.
These C'thun cards are pretty boring. Just boring normal stats with a effect for C'Thun later. Since everyone is getting C'Thun it needs to be simple.
Wants to play Captain Cookie Druid because why not?
Everyone is crying about Big Game Hunter.
Uh, have you forgotten that a simple Fireball can take this guy out!?
Worst than the 7/6 mech for druid.
I mean, 2/3 are the vanilla stats for a 2 drop, 6/7 is vanilla for a 6 drop, why not making it a 6/7?
Love the art, sadly I will probably never use the card. :(

That would still make it so that BGH would kill C'thun almost every time and i can imagine that blizzard wouldn't want that.
