The fact that it costs the same as LoH and Tirion is key here. This card will see play but will not completely overshadow the others that are around the same mana cost/impact. This forces players to make a choice (of playing X card). This is intended to shake things up and give people options but not completely define Paladin (powercreep) -- something that the expansion is intended to do. And that goes for everything in WoG and the upcoming patch.
I'm not sure if I missed this, but is his healing "targeted" or "random"?
The set-up for Lightlord, on the other hand, is more dependent on your actions. If you need the heal on your hero then you have to ensure you don’t have any damaged minions on the board. If you do, maybe you trade them in. If you want the heal to land on your big minion then, like the OG Rag, you can give yourself a 50/50 shot.
The paragraph above was taken from IGN's interview with Team 5. However, it sounds like he (the new Rag) will heal a random friendly character, but no where on his new card, does it say "random". Wasn't sure if anyone could clear this up. Thanks in advance.
Given how bad Lightwell is when it comes to healing I doubt a bigger version is going to be any better.
Healbot is better for Wild / Forbidden healing is better for healing / Tirion is better at being a big dude who keeps you safe in both
Lightwell does not heal you till the start of your next turn. It also has much worse stat distribution, and heals for less. Granted there is no guarantee this card will be played, but it could be played in a deck with tirion. Also consider that forbidden healing does not put a threat on the board.
People talking about the lore: keep in mind this is all really an alternate universe. Imagine what would have happened if Azeroth hadn't absorbed all the Spirit element, thus making the elementals less chaotic, who might then have fought against the Old Gods. Now imagine the Titans arriving and empowering the Elemental Lords instead of making Keepers. Tada!
i thought ragnoros is a firelord..now he can be a lightlord too? wtf and it makes no sense that it turned good after being "corrupted". shouldn't it become more evil?
What's with all the people "kappa"ing, unable of independant tought ? :p
Card is crap: there is no way with the current revealed cards a control paladin will survive past turn 7. There is NO paladin early game at the moment. Control paladin looks like a face deck ideal victim: the guy that loses with 8 cards in hand on turn 6.

You high? Murloc Paladin was speculated to be one of the best decks in standard, before realising the 'nerf' of Old Murk Eye. The framework of that deck can be used in control Paladin. No need for Minibot and Muster.
Didn't see that coming... Looks pretty awesome, though. I like to see Paladin getting more healing seeing as how they are supposed to be a healing class.

I guess Ben Brode really loves Paladin...

I really don't like this card.
First, taking one of the coolest classic legendaries and twisting it awkardly to make a class card is really bad.
Then, why would anyone run this instead of Tirion Frodring, Lay on Hands or the one true Ragnaros, the Firelord ?
I know it looks fun, like Lightwell is fun, but it will be unplayable, unless all the cards I named are nerfed.
xD xD xD
I cant wait to play with Control Paladin again

The quote says it all - the heal is going to be random.
Repair Bot's text also doesn't have the word "random" but the heal is random indeed.

It's a card game... you lore-whores are weird peeps. This is a universe where a hyena and a gnome juggler combine forces to take down a raid boss...
