Rag is not serving the old gods, he is fighting against them. This is why releasing elemental lords for this expansion is alright. Would have been better if it had 2 legs like in the firelands I suppose. Also, don't be surprized if they release therazane, alakir and neptulon in a way different style. Guess neptulon might be too early but alakir and therazane are still in. Let's just wait and see.
All in all, this is not a big op card but also not a trash tier. Might see play, who knows, let's just wait and see
Ragnaros and the other Elemental Lords were ENSLAVED by the Old Gods. The way they tried to rationalized it in the IGN article was that now that the Old Gods are back, Ragnaros has taken up the side of good to get his sweet revenge on his old masters.
Damn, all these commas in the new card's names are driving me insane x[
Linking cards in these comments was already a pain in the ass. Had to remember how it was spelled and odd titles. Now I have to remember commas and if there's a 'The' or not in the title. :P

It's bullshit. The elemental lords were the elemental lords before they were made the Old Gods bitches.Ragnaros was the firelord before he was enslaved, is not like there was a dude called Ragnaros that the Old Gods turned into the firelord and enslaved so now he needs powers from someone else so they vomited holy light on top of him.

That's not what I said. Where did I say that?
No, is what they said, or at least the half assed explanation they wanted to give to this thing.
If Ragnaros wanted to turn against their former masters he can just do it by throwing fire at them, no need to turn him into a joke of a light elemental. Anyway my complain is about the fact that they had like 10 paladins, easy, to turn into Legendaries, instead they go for this unfunny made up thing.Isn't enough with things like the Boogey Monster?
There is no chance this will ever get played, unless BGH gets removed. A good card to compare this to is Mal'Ganis -both essentially "restore" you 7-8 health. However the only reason why Mal'Gangis gets run in Zoo is because there is a chance of cheating him out early via Voidcaller. But if Voidcaller didnt exist, Mal would never be played (have you played with Zoo much? Paying 9 mana for Mal makes you feel really bad, and is a borderline game losing play most time)
Basically this card has a similar power level to an existing card that is pretty much unplayable for its cost, and only gets included since it can be cheated out. Unless BGH gets nerfed (in which case both Mal`Ganis and this card become great) it wont be played.
Unless we have another Dr. Boom, BGH will be played FAR FAR less, if at all. At most in heavy control fatigue decks.

I sense a new meta that makes Paladin a little bit stronger. Or at least more interesting. I'm tired of having to run "Secret Paladin". To be honest I haven't played Paladin in months. Partly because it has the same cards and the same strategies all the time.
This makes me think that a new "Healadin" meta deck would be viable. Fatigue Paladin Anyone?
Not a WoW player, but I do know that Rag serves the old gods. Am I correct to assume that this was Rag before he served the old gods?
Road to Golden Hunter 500/500 (FYI I used Midrange not Smorc)
This looks so legit
Warrior Legendary: Ned Stark confirmed
Be there, or be squared!

Ragnaros, Flamebeard. for the pirate expansion.

The card is ok.
Keeping it alive more than 1 turn gives a quite huge value.
