They already said they were considering removing the silence from Keeper of the Grove. The 'extrapolation' is just conjecture from that website and not really evidence. There is a big difference between a standalone silence effect and one that you get for free as part of an already viable minion.
Take it as you will. I believe it, he was there talking to the devs, I wasn't.
Value wise, it's pretty bad. Way too situational. Sure with the right board it could be good, but the problem is there "with the right board". Other cards are just gonna be better on their own, could fit if the 4 drop space is vacant in certain decks, but else, don't think this is gonna be game changing most of the time.
If silence is still prominent, this card is going to be much worse than Twilight Drake.
However, if silence cards get nerfed, I could see this being very powerful in Handlock when combo'd with cards like PO, Ancient Watcher, or Eerie Statue.
This is the 3rd card in the last 2 days with a 1/1 base statline, and 4th if you count the created minions from Herald Volazj. All of these minion either have to do with the Old Gods in general or N'Zoth in particular. Now 1/1 has not been a common statline in playable minions up till now (I can think of 5 off the top of my head) and all of a sudden we get this many more. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if N'Zoth had some sort of interaction with 1/1s that either buffed him, or buffed those minions, that changed how we viewed these cards.
Didn't amaz say something in his last WOG review about a 4 mana 1/1 win the game? I wonder if he saw the future of this card! Looks to be strong, although I think if silence doesn't get the nerf we're gonna see a lot of iron beak to deal with this and buffed C'Thuns
This can sorta replace Sunfury and Argus in Handlock, giving you a big taunt and another 8/8 for just 4.
Not necessarily replace. Maybe this card + sunfury and/or argus. This increases the chance of summoning the giants and surviving for the next turn to wreck the opponent.
But I don't see this card being used by anything except Warlocks, unless they add new cards similar to giants, which get its cost reduced in some cases.
Good in taunt druid because it usually has big guys on the board late game (ancient of lore, war, emperor etc), then you can get down another cheap big taunt plus a swipe
Is 1 mana deduction really justifyable when it is pretty much a situationally worse Faceless Manip?
You need to have a bulky minion maintain a good amount of stats for at least one turn for this to be used. Granted, taking stats from something like a Twilight Drake and adding taunt on top of that is value, but still.
In my opinion, a good stat value for this minion would be about 4/6 (1/1 above Tazdingo). So you need to ask yourself how often you'll be able to achieve that, and how often it'd be better to play this over manip. (E.g. if you're planning to combo this with Ysera, you may as well have a Faceless Manipulator)
Personally, if I were to run a 4 mana taunt, I'd just run Taz. Simply because it's more reliable.
Handlock PogChamp
Power Overwhelming + this card, then attack with the minion you PO'd.
Too expensive for other classes I think.
Cards like this are good. This will work very well in a couple decks but not everything. I like cards like that.
This seems more like the real Sludge Belcher replacement.
Great card
I can see it be played, no problem

Just wait till Faceless Shambler, Faceless Manipulator, and Validated Doomsayer Priest becomes a thing.

Speculation here.

People should keep in mind that Molten Giants are likely getting changed or nerfed. But if not it would be a nice combo with this.

Either useless or great. I am unsure.

crap, id rather run senjin shieldmaster or defender of argus
to be honest, the whole expansion sucks so far, besides the possible cthun starter deck. decks build drom classic set and tgt look way stronger.

I see this card in a handlock deck, if theres anybody still playing that, or maybe like a control type of deck
I just imagine having a clear board and this as my only playable card.
Feels bad.
