Not sure what all the hype is about. The card requires you to play it, have a damage spell at the same time, or it requires you to save it and combo it in the late game when it will most likely be too late. On average this card will be a 5 mana 4/6 with a possible upside. It definitely isn't bad, but I think its being over hyped.
While this card is good, this is not what Shaman needed. It needs more reliable draw mechanics to keep up with the other classes. Ancestral Healing and Azure Drake cannot carry Shaman alone, they need another draw engine.
I think what shaman needs is other overload unlocking effects now that lava shock is leaving. Shaman have decent draw cards like ancestral knowledge and mana tide.. Better draw cards will benefit aggro more than midrange or control..
Let's face it, with power 5-drops rotating out. Shamans don't have much of a choice (as of yet) to slot this in, no matter how conditional it looks.

Shaman still get another 3/4 cards. Reserve judgement on draw mechanics.
What are people talking about? This card is utterly broken OP!!
It will make control shamans in the same league as control warriors.
Now why would you think that, in terms of Life Gain, warrior is still the only class that can go over 30. In terms of removal this card doesn't actually remove anything. Warrior is strong because it can leverage it's life total as armor and use it as removal, through Shield Slam and Weapons, on top of tons of cheap removal, Execute, Slam, Bash and Brawl.
This one card can not fill all the roles, and I argue it doesn't even fill one of them.
The issue with your argument is that you're comparing warrior cards in interaction with this card, as opposed to shaman cards interacting with this card. This card, other then reno jackson, maybe even more so than reno jackson, is the best healing card in the game, due to the very fact that it synergises with shaman cards so well.
The main downside to this card is that it's weak against control decks, and arguably most other 5 drops in the game would take its place when facing control decks. But again, if you see this as a tech card to add against agro then this card can win you the game single handedly. Also, it's not a card you need to completely build a deck around, heck, the control shaman that existed up until now wouldn't change much, even after adding this card, so it's also a very good stand alone card.

This is still 5 mana though... so that means Lava Burst and double Lightning Bolt, but it only heals for 11...
Conclusion: Reno is still better.
You're forgetting that AEO exists.
Not only that, but you can also say "Healbot only heals for 8, Reno restores to full health. Conculsion: Reno is better." Just stupid.
It's not entirely comparable. Healbot's effect is unconditional. Both the effects of Reno and this card require conditions (having one-ofs which affects the deckbuilding process and playing dmg spells respectively). Therefore, since both require effort, you look at the effort it takes to get an effect. Comparing Reno and Healbot, they scale evenly. Comparing Reno and Hallazeal, Hallazeal needs (potentially) more effort (which I might have been wrong in at the time, yes, because AOE), while the benefit is lighter (that still holds up). But since what I said on first glance was wrong, I'll change my opinion: I'd like to try it to prove myself wrong again.

Good card, but useless. Shaman is not freeze mage, shaman doesn't need to heal himself while bursting opponent down with spells.
For midrange??? Midrange shaman is not even close to face shaman in terms of power. One legendary card couldn't change anyting.
I wish people like you didn't exist really..
People who think about things realistically? One legendary can change the way a deck is made, but the effect has to be really strong like Reno or Malygos, I chose these two for a reason one is a stand alone card with a really strong healing effect one is a combo card who's power scales with more combo pieces. This card doesn't really do either, Reno doesn't require any investment really to get it's effect and it's a really strong effect, Malygos requires a ton of investment but the pay off is huge. This card is just mediocre, it doesn't fight for the board, finish the game, and there are cards that are more effective at pulling you back from the brink of defeat.
The card is pretty decent. Nothing overly fancy, but it really helps control / mid-range shaman. Good stats on top. I think "solid" sums it up pretty nicely.
edit: The card will become more relevant once Reno leaves standard.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
If there ver will be control shaman itll have 2 elemental destructions and 2 lightning storms propably so this might be a realy good one of as tech card vs agro. After all, statline is dcent.

The only way that this card will be playable is if blizzard nerfs druid's combo. In that case , malygos shaman will be prettttttty good
I think it's a very good card. AT WORST you drop this on turn 5. Your opponent will fall all over themselves removing it.
At best you drop this with elemental destruction and heal up 29 points while clearing your opponent's board.
Very little downside, huge upside. What do folks want in a card?

Turns out it's preeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetty good...
Now I just need to figure out how to build a Control Shaman, because this is absolute trash in Aggro Shaman, aka the only viable Shaman right now.
I would have liked to see this card with spell damage +1, even if that bumped it up to 6 mana.

[Game] Name another card that has the same...
Overhype everywhere, just like with Mistcaller... I hope this one will have better future...
