I thought Flame Lance was crap, I think this is crap. Mostly the exact same reasons. #1 - Can't go face. #2 - Mage has better removal options all ready.
i don't think this would make Pyro obsolete if you could hit face, since you have to spend 10 mana on it to do 10 damage, pyro can be reduced by emperor/aprentice to do the 10 damage for less than 10 mana.
i think this should be able to hit face, like it is now, not very strong.
Fun fact: Emperor Thaurissan can make the cost of cards go negative (even if we can't see it). If Forbidden Flame got ticked by Emperor MAYBE it would deal 11 damage? Not sure about that interaction.

There is a lot of better cards for Flamewalker than this in any turn, this card is terrible, my bet is the worst spell ever made in any class, maybe eye to eye is more useless, maybe.
I know its a mage spell but im really interested to know how this works with the rogue spell preparation.
The same way the coin/backstab work with preparation, doing nothing. This spell cost 0 man ALWAYS, only effect itself is using your unspent mana crystals. Effect of the card is not the cost of the card.

If you have really played with tempo mage u would know that A LOT of times the decisions you make on the turn is based on the results of the pings from flamewaker, so a lot of times u would like to cast a spell, see what happens since flamewaker do whatever he wants with the pings, and THEN see what u do, with this card, u don't have this kind of flexibility, u either go for it, play other things early and pray for god that the pings obey, or play as if the card did not even exist.
A LOT of people seems to be missing this crucial point, u can't cast this and see what will happen with pings and then plan on what to do based on the results...

I don't think this is an amazing card, but what you're missing is the versatility that this card is providing. In the early game you can use it as spot removal or to add to a flamewaker combo. In the late game you can save it to remove larger minions or to add a fireball from Antonidas.
I think there's a slight chance it sees play just for that versatility, but definitely not an auto-include.

Memedeck-seeker. Always tries to build new decks. Hates tournements, streamers, netdecks and poor-o players. ah, but a tournement mode could be great !!!
Overbudget card no matter the scenario.... I guess could see some use against that 4/2 divine shield minion =p. T4 ping it and this card. If anything has over 10 health though this card is completely worthless... Just better to run polymorph over this.

Judging by the comments I'm seeing here A LOT of people don't understand this card!
This card ONLY gets "buffed" by the mana you spent on it, not the total of mana you spent on your turn!
If you play this card for zero mana it will deal zero damage!! Read the god damn card!

I do agree the card is very versatile but paying 1 mana for 1 damage its a bad trade off.
I'd like to see how it works with spell power tho.
