Its useless to compare this with Flamelance or Arcane Blast, since the advantage of this card is that it can be both. Its a versatile fill card which has some combo potential.

So does Arcane Blast........
No Arcane Blast cant deal 10 damage consistently. So realy no. But i would asume one would run both spells in a new tempo mage since Portal, flamecannon drops out.
It all comes down to the actual mechanics of "Spend all your mana". Does this mean it's an all or nothing turn, or does it mean you can use some mana on little things and use what's left over on these cards? The usefulness of these type of cards will be greatly swayed by this. Cause if I can choose to drop a 8 mana bomb or a couple 2 cost guys and a 4 mana bomb, the flexibility of the latter will surely make the cards' stock rise. Now as far as damage cards go, like this mage one, does it work with spell damage? Can you 0 cast it? These things will also put weight on the card. I think we all need to see it used before a final verdict can be made.

i believe from my interpretation of...
"Playing a Forbidden card consumes all your available mana for the turn to fuel that card’s alluring effect..."
You can play the 2 2-mana guys and have this turn into a 4-mana 4 dmg spell on 8 mana. I'm guessing this will be affected by spell dmg as well...
I really love the all-purpose nature of this card: good removal against aggro, mid-range and big-minion control decks. Can even choose to spend 0 mana just to proc Gadgetzan or Flamewaker (2 missiles for 0 mana is actually quite good).
This will probably replace Flamecannon in tempo mage.
Cool design Idea. I was talking to a buddy once about why they never had cards that changed in effectiveness relative to remaining mana. I was thinking more in the vein of something like Mana burn (demon hunter class? ^_^) versus your opponents remaining crystals. But this is cool too.

"Playing a Forbidden card consumes all your available mana for the turn to fuel that card’s alluring effect—the more mana you spend, the more power the Old Gods will bestow upon you. What’s wrong with a little corruption, anyway?"

If that's the case, then it's value greatly increases. Cause then it can be combo'ed with Archmage Antonidas, Flamewaker and be used as quick pings for spell damage creatures. With a Malygos, you're shooting free fireballs! Lol. Imagine dropping a Maly and killing off a Thurrisan or Sladge Belcher, or popping your own Sylvanis to steal their biggin, FOR FREE! SAME TURN! Wow.

Are you serious? Good removal against aggro? You can't kill any 1 mana 1/3 minion in your turn 2 with this, compare this to the awesome Flamecannon is just heresy. :P
This card is soo bad, can be consider a minor nerf for Ethereal Conjurer.
I love this card! Love it! I might have to switch out my miracle mech mage deck for one involving this (since mech will be a thing of the past in Standard for awhile).
Fireball: 4 mana 6 damage, can be used in face.
Needed to do mana + 1 damage to be worth playing in constructed (unless mage spells see heavy nerfing for standard)
:( Not even particularly relevant for arena as it's epic
Almost no reason to play this card over Arcane Blast and even that card hardly sees play.
An insane areana card

Not sure if this point has been brought up, but the new spells are perfect against Heroic Baron Geddon...

As a card for Rogue it would've been much more interesting. :/

I like my competition extraSalty.
Tempo Mage, here I come! This card actually looks good- maybe.
