Shieldmaiden v2, although 7 mana is a lot. C'Thun decks would probably run this since they're Control based.
From all the cards we have seen till now, C'Thun deck are NOT control based, but Midrange/Tempo based. All cultist minions have strong vanila stats with an upside (2/3 fo 2, 3/4 for 3, 4/5 for 4, etc)
Agree with this.
If anything this is just the 7 drop to a midrange warrior. You can't really have a CW or fatigue warrior when you need to include a large portion of the C'Thun buff cards to make C'Thun viable. The emphasis here will be to curve out as well as possible and stay alive long enough to use C'Thun as your main win condition.
The Ancient Shieldbearer will definitely help in staying alive, but I would think it's closer to having a healbot in a mid range pally than having a Shieldmaiden in a CW
Well, Armorsmith is better in a deck with minions, and you're not going to excluding Bash either I think, so Shield Slam is also going to make it in. Seems to me that even if the warrior C'Thun deck will be a midrange deck like the others, it's still going to be the most control oriented of the bunch.
I think people are wrong about the warrior deck being midrange at all though, I think it's much more likely to contain only the most effective C'Thun buffs (4 max), along with control tools and draw. Making it a control, maybe combo deck.
Also: Control deck != deck full of removal. You can also use minions to control a board.
So half this expansion is gonna be cards that revolve around a single legendary? I get less excited about this expansion every time i see a new card, horrible decision making by the dev team and in theory is just a bad idea forcing a card to be used in almost every deck. These cards are not exciting and rather boring.

Why the fuck people like to be so negative without to even try to find out something first? Such ignorance.
There will be 16 "cultist" minions that interact with C'Thun, 1 for each class and 7 neutral. So that's 17 minions total with C'Thun theme, or about ~12% of the expansion.
I'm with you. Shield Maiden getting replaced by Shield-er Maiden is not what I was hoping for out of this expansion. Replacing one control warrior with a similar control warrior + C'thun is not very exciting, and if all Standard is going to be is the same archetypes that play a slightly different way they'll have missed a great opportunity with the game.
I'll wait to see more cards before coming to much of a conclusion, but I'm already sick of seeing the C'thun cards. Combo/Control decks are not that much fun to play or play against in my opinion, so I'm already dreading the new C'thun meta.

Like i said horrible decision making. Having so many cards revolve around a single card is plain bad and a waste of card slots. Has nothing to do with being negative it's giving a honest opinion, also your making the assumption that i haven't tried to figure something out first which ironically is ignorance on your part. Plenty of cards left to go but as it sits currently with what we've seen this expansion is crash so far.

May I quote you: "half this expansion is gonna be cards that revolve around a single legendary"
50% =/= 12%
It is like you say that "mechs are bed, because they revolve around Mechwarper"
fuck, i hate whem my opponent get 20+ armor, not cuz it will be hard to win, but cuz it will be the hell of a looong match. in casual some times i concede at these moments.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
need take time to make new pic and signature using the new cards.
I am scared everyone will have the same damn deck. Lets say I build a cthun deck, I will prob include all the buff cards and cthun then ill add my classes best direct damage/creature removal and then my late game bombs... done. Every class can do this and every class DID do this for mechs when it was released.
Thats a lot of armor.....
RIP yogg-saron good things don't last forever :(

We seriously need a card(s) to destroy or abuse armor

I get the feeling there will be plenty of "opponent's C'Thun get -x/-x" cards. There should be, at least.
WTF
Guys, I have insider knowledge that says they will release cards to deal with armor.
It's called gaining board presence and doing damage. -_-
This card really depends on what other minions bud ctuns attack.
Damn I'm hyped to see the other Gods and their respective minions now.
