You aren't wrong, but since C'thun is so expensive you can't do both. It still buys you a turn at least.
Hogger though isn't the only one who can do this, Patron also achieve the same goal, is cheaper and you can have two in the deck. Though I would love to see a situation where a 20/20 C'thun comes down, ignores all minions and just pings face lol. Pretty impossible but would be hilarious to see.
Right, so you're going to keep Hogger in your hand till turn 10, assuming they even play C'thun on that turn or if they have drawn it rather than play it on curve where most of the time it will be more useful for trading/keeping board?
If I have hogger in my deck at all, it would be for the express purpose to play on a what might be a C'thun turn. Otherwise the card won't be in my deck at all. Also, I wouldn't play hogger over patron. Also please don't misinterpret what I am saying. I am not saying, hey Hogger is a counter, all people should play Hogger! The only thing I am saying is that IF C'thun's battlecry becomes a thing that people feel need to be countered then Hogger can buy you an extra turn, at the very least, if they don't have C'thun they still need to deal with Hogger before they draw and play it. Not that including Hogger for the that purpose is a good idea necessarily, especially not over patron, and not that it will even be necessary to attempt to counter it in the first place. A much easier solution is, don't over commit.
Most stupid thing base 20% of an expension on the cthun or whatever hello noob say hello to my shadow word death or crual taskmastrmer+execute oh wait or another 20 cards and 10 combos that will kill cthun who cares for a 20/20 legendary when a single 3mana card can kill it
You do, when it is 20-20 deal 40 damage distributed randomly between all enemy characters. Yea you can SoD it afterwards be my guest.
You shadowstep your Brann at some point (you have your toxins or the standard shadowstep spell to do that). You play Emperor Thaurissan later with Brann and/or C'Thun in your hand (or Shadowstep your C'Thun) to be able to play both with 10 mana as a rogue. Druid needs innervate and a single Emperor discount to have the same.
I just took on a Priest who played his C'Thun as a 10/10. As a mage, I quickly sheeped and destroyed it. A few turns later, the Priest played a Twilight Darkmender and got credit for 10 health. Every linked card continued to buff up the C'thun that was already played and destroyed. By the end of the match, this card had been buffed up to 22/22, and the priest even got a 2nd Darkmender heal for another 15 health. I guess that's a nice mechanic to have on your side...
Is this the first card that can continue to get buffed after being destroyed?
So far C'thun sucks for me. Have a decent Druid and priest deck and consistently build up C'thun. But he never shows up. I've pulled him once in about 20 games.
been a few weeks now since we had C'Thun and the new expansion... What I noticed:
* once buffed, C'Thun is such a pain (if you are not the one with the buffed C'Thun). just no way to remove and divert the battlecry effect/ ability * so many cards that buff C'Thun, even of they last only one turn, it still makes C'Thun such a pain. I only wish there's a way to remove C'Thun from deck or nerf it while still in deck... some sort like give opponent C'Thun a -2/-2... * if you see opponent with C'Thun card back, well, good chance he/ she will be playing a C'Thun deck
8.5/10
decent stats, great artwork, amazing ability (if used the right way)
buff, buff, buff, fun, fun, fun
If evolution is outlawed, only outlaws will evolve.
how the ... can he do 40 damage if he is 20/20?
Brann Bronzebeard.

C'Thun has one of the best voices in the game, holy crap. His lines are utterly fantastic.
Sweet, he whispers when he gets buffed.
edit: I guess he only does that the first time you play against him.

Haven't tried it yet, but C'thun decks I face seem very underwhelming.
Also, and probably far worse, they seem very similar.
I enjoy gang-up on blade of C'Thun and using it to destiny everything and make C'Thun as big as possible. Effective? Not at all. Fun? Hell yes.
