I have to agree with the majority of the thread. While I do think it's awesome that you're experimenting with less-common cards (Hearthstone needs more experimentation), I feel the points you make about Succubus are moot. The 3 health makes it tradable with half of the other 2-drops and with the discard your giving your opponent a free 2-for-1. almost every class can deal 3 damage by turn 3 with some sort of spell or weapon, all of which are fairly common in the current meta. I'd start listing them off but feel I'm beating a dead horse.
I played a warlock deck with almost all the demons in it just to try them all out so I could for my own opinions on them. It was surprisingly more successful than I expected. The thing about them is every turn you give up something to drop a minion one turn early. The opponent can generally deal with the first 2 or 3 of them but then start to run out of ways to deal with them. When a pitlord sits out for a few turns because they used all their removal on your imp and succubus and then you drop a doomguard it gets pretty nasty.
Turn one coin + succumbs into a turn 2 demonfire wins games if your opponent didn't draw the perfect removal. Even if they have an answer its often multiple cards so your not really giving them a 3 for 1, plus warlocks can replace cards easily.
Also you can hide a turn 2 succubus behind a turn 1 voidwalker, or a turn one blood imp to make it a 4/4 and make it almost impossible to get rod of.
Am I the only one seeing the real problem with the 3 HP? It easily gets picked of to most classes for 1-2 mana and usually by quite common cards. Shamans - Lightning bolt, Rockbiter. Rogue - Backstab + Stab, Backstab Eviscerate (It's not the best value, but hey), most combos. Mage - Frostbolt, Arcane missiles (with some luck), Mirror image. I can go on. Druid - Wrath. (Can anyone think of any more here? I'm drawing a blank) Hunter - Split shot (if you play another minion), Arcaneshot + anything. Priest - Holy Smite + pyromancer (Priests are also quite short) Paladin - BoM on anything, most secrets ("GET DOWN!", redemption etc) Warlock - Soulfire, Flame Imp, Shadow bolt (granted 3 mana so a bit late), Lifedrain + Pyro Warrior - Fiery War Axe (also quite limited)
Also any class that can deal 2 damage for 1 mana along with Pyromancer can quite easily kill it, sure it's still turn 3 but you've wasted 1 card trying to get the Succubus and probably only got 1 hit with it so it might as well have been a soulfire.
This is why succubus is bad. The best case scenario is she 2 for 2's with most likely 1 for 2. Sure I'll grant she's a great tempo play but almost every class has an easyish way to handle it, especially shaman, in fact I wouldn't play her in that matchup on turn 2 as the likely hood of him holding a three damage spell is quite high. The only classes I would consider her on turn 2 an ok play is Hunter (if she's only thing on my board), Priest, and Paladin because there ability to do three damage on two mana requires a combo or multiple enemies and not a single card. So bad play 2/3 of the time.
I've been running my zoo deck with 2x Succubus for about a week now (just starting to try playing Warlock and want to learn the cards) and have always had my doubts about it from the beginning. I just don't like that discard. I find that when she's in my hand I only play her if she's the ONLY card in my hand or if I really think I can afford to lose something I'm holding (which is rare).
I'm probably going to pull her from the deck (especially after reading a lot of the comments here). We spend all of this time and effort building decks...why then go and penalize ourselves with discards, especially early in the game? Just doesn't seem worth it.
If only you could choose which card to discard... Then she becomes BARELY better.
You never wanna 2-4-1 yourself on turn 2-3. If they have the removal and you went first and discarded your 3 play, you might as well scoop, it kills your whole game JUST LIKE THAT. Just 2 days ago I had a guy play her... turn 1 (nothing)->T2 Succubus My turn 2, Sap.
Also, as a pure comparison to soulfire it's so bad: 0 mana for 4 damage 1 time use and 2 cards OR 2 mana for a 4/3 that has to wait to attack to trade and costs 2 cards
Spells in this game are generally better (because of the whole 1 time use thing) and Succubus is just a prime example as to why. Literally 0 mana and 2 cards for instant 4 damage to target vs 2 mana for nothing instant and for something that can be removed/countered/bounced. Succ is suck

I disagree. The succubus is a bad card. It's a 2 drop which means any other 3/2 card can kill it. It just isn't worth it.

Because nobody loves her and pitlord blizz created a voidcaller.

Succubus sucks of her stats. If she's 3/4 or 3/5, I would pick her any day.
