I am playing the game since the beta and the last years I am always between D5 and Legend every month, but the state of wild has never been worse. There are way too much meme decks with absurd combos. Most og them can only be countered by tech cards which are useless vs. other decks.
I am Platin 3 now and 3 out of 5 games i am facing a rogue, most of them with that breakdancer cheat.
I am wondering where this game's journey will end. Every expansiion there come more and more cards with more and more powerful cheats. So you end up facing 4 8/8 at turn 4 or you sit there watching the enemie playing countless cards or countless rounds.
The have spent so many human ressources on twist's 27 heroes, but only 3 of them are competative.
Yeah the way I see it is if a game becomes a grind then you may as well be getting paid for it like a second job! Take a break and focus on other stuff, you might find if you come back to it you won't feel so emotionally attached on your return, take it easy friend :)
Get more bent on it. I've been playing almost as long as you. I'm almost always D5-Legend as well. When it comes to the game, it is just a matter of Rock (Aggro), Paper (Control), Scissors (Combo). If you're getting railed by Arcane Giants and their Breakdances, then play some kind of control. It isn't a big deal
I also play the game since Beta, powercreep and more broken cards with new expansions are inevitable at this point, causing Wild to be so fast with OP decks, just gotta accept Wild is broken and move on if you don't enjoy the meta and nature in Wild (or until you find the Wild meta that you want to play in). I used to love Wild, but nowadays, I play more and more Standard to make up for my time in Wild.
I'm not sick to the super Aggro like Pirate Rogue or super broken mana cheating like Ramp Druid. I'm sick to those single-player decks that keep taking their entire turns/time to draw the entire deck (Rogue) or hit the Quest reward (Demon Seed) while ignoring the opponent's turns. These players might as well play their own Solo mode and don't bother with PvP.

No use. Control is not fast enough against that disgusting cheat deck unless maybe priest with lucky draw
Problem is once u take a break u start very low and climbing is insane with 1x star..
If that happens it's probably better to focus on playing decks that you find fun and not worry about your rank?
I understand we all have different prioritizations but it seems like over focusing on winning/rank may be killing the OP's enjoyment of the game at the moment.

This is the way to go. I can confirm that taking this game too seriously is bad for your brain and playing funny stuff is better. In the end, after you reached legend for the first time in a mode, what are the rewards? 5 packs and 1 epic. And getting from D5 to legend is the real climb, so you get 1 extra pack for your efforts. Idk, this doesn't feel worth it, given that you can also just farm 3k exp within what, 7-8 hours? Playing arena with halfway decent results pays better. And since we have quite a lot of balance changes, you can also often get a lot of your dust back, so it's not hard to get some good cards and decks in a format, even if you are as f2p as I am. It doesn't feel like you need to maximize things anymore. Do your quests, maybe have some fun hunting some of the achievements and then play for D5 in one mode and for fun in the other mode.

I thought it was other way around. Aggro presents too many threats too quick for control. Control disrupts key piece of combo. Combo is free to do their thing against aggro as aggro has no interaction.

It's the other way around. Control beats Aggro with their AoE, Aggro beats Combo as Combo takes longer time to set up their pieces, Combo beats Control as they get to their win conditions much faster than Control.

I'm since beta too, but i had few years break. Playing time to time now.
I think you need sort of break (pause or less intensive experience), until the game gives you joy again.
It is just a game in our life after all, we live to be happy!💖
take a break fam, come back after a while

The game become much more enjoyable for me when I went from 30+ games a day to 5 games every few days. I would recommend it.
