Their high roll is pretty insane, but it doesn't happen all that often. And if they don't roll high, the thing about Big Priests is that they're utterly predictable, and you can use that to their doom. I run a hunter secret package with Ice, Freezing and Pressure Plate that just wrecks them.
Palm reading nerf? Hell no. The power outliers here are Illuminate and Shadow Essence. Since blizzard doesn't give enough of a shit about Wild, there probably won't ever be "wild versions" of standard cards where they're toned down, so their only option is to ban Illuminate or nerf a Wild card causing the issue (Shadow Essence). Like I said before, Shadow Essence has been causing big priest BS for ages and is long overdue a nerf like "Summon a minion from your deck and set its stats to 5/5." making Blood of G'huun less stupid and forces them to use res for more Neptulon BS
Or, y'know, ban Neptulon from Wild. That one card has created three problematic decks in 3 different classes in a short few months. But touching Shadow Essence is better for the long run, much like the Lightning Bloom rework.
I don’t think shadow essence is the problem. By itself it’s not very powerful in big priest since it (used to) come out during the mid game. So personally I think the big one is illuminate. That card is responsible for cheating out a spell that should be played on turn 5 or 6 as early as turn 3….
illuminate being banned makes more sense than shadow essence nerf logically. But because wild players want to experiment with new cards regardless of how problematic they are we could do a slight nerf to shadow essence like someone already said. Make it summon the actual minion and set it to 5/5 so not a copy. I quite like that idea because it’s in spirit of the original big priest with y’shaarj :P
I think Shadow Essence is the card to nerf since it's only used in Big Priest.
But even in big priest it wasn’t originally unbalanced or unfair. Cheating it out is what’s tilting. Then it doesn’t give the opponent any opportunity to build a counter (or kill them in the case of aggro strategy). Playing shadow essence on turn 6 or 5 as originally intended is perfectly fine.

That's why I would suggest nerfing Shadow Essence, since the expectation is that it will always be played for a discount. By nerfing or banning the discounting cards you also nerf other Priest decks that may use those cards, and the issue will just arise again in the future when more discount cards are released. Are discounts meant to be permanently disallowed in Priest just because Shadow Essence exists?
Neptulon is busted in more than just priest in Wild. Honestly it just needs to be banned but I dont expect it to happen. I'm currently running a deathrattle rogue that frequently gets it out by turns 3-6. It's generally auto win when it does. See picture attached for turn 4 double Neptulon. Opponent conceded.

The issue is Sketchy Information triggering Kobold Illusionist. So, Kobold to 5.

Sure, but you could list several decks that summon Neptulon early game and each one you could blame the "trigger". Silly to blame/nerf every single trigger when at the end of the day, it's Neptulon that is creating these insane swing turns. I just think the card should be banned, there's nothing healthy about this card existing in Wild.
Neptulon just needs to be nerfed that it cannot hit face but only minions… or at least the arms should not hit face.
Neptulon itself is fine, It's a 10 mana minion if you play it like that it's fine, the problem is just the fact that you cheat him on turn 2 because of Illuminate that's the one who needs to be nerf or banned, or just ban Neptulon from the format, but you can't nerf Neptulon because of mana cheating cards.
Like I've said before, they either need to ban Neptulon from wild, or change it to Battlecry: Gain rush and windfury. That way no more mana cheat bs with it.
Anyone think illuminate and palm Reading needs ban in wild? I dont think Neptulon on turn 2-4 is ok.
this made my day
My favorite card is Cycle Of Hatred
Yeah, quite a few people: https://www.hearthpwn.com/forums/hearthstone-game-modes/wild-format/253768-did-neptulon-break-the-wild-format-mainly-when

If ban shadow essence, they can still play idol of yshjaarj on turn 3

Illuminate is the only problem, before that Big Priest wasn't that good
Like 80% of my Big Priest ennemies just did Illuminate turn one and Neptulon turn 2/3
I think the only thing to ban is Illuminate, without that they have only Palm Reading to reduce that's ok
Its the most busted zero mana card ever created.

Blizzard should make a tech card that wipes the resurrect pool back to zero.

Big priest is for people that are not good at the game, and want a deck that is super easy and super strong at the same time.
A 5 year old could get legend with big priest. Decks that are so easy to play and require no intellect whatsoever should not be this strong.
It doesn't even require basic math skills unlike aggro decks.
My comments refer mostly to the wild format.
With Love Everlasting and Aman'thul the deck is stronger.
