i started playing Wild about 3 months ago and at first I thought the player were friendlier by a little bit than standard.
But in the last month or so, from Diamond 5 and even in Legend, seem to be running into sore loser after sore loser (mostly) and this has been going on for weeks:
1. Obviously has lost, but drags out game half an hour. 2. Loses around turn 9, just leaves. 3. Ropes when losing hard
Now, I'm playing a tech Shaman using Dirty Rat/Skulking Geist/Loetheb etc.
When I first played ranked in Standard, the players were pretty good overall in ranked (definitely not casual) --- you had roping Priests occasionally (because Priest)
Is all these sore losers a wild thing? Or has Hearthstone in general changed? Or is it casual players now play ranked because of the rewards system?
Yeah, a lot of people get very petty. Some just like to rope because they think the opponent will just leave if they get sick of the roping. I maybe get a fast player in 1/20 games, the rest either rope on purpose, are semi afk, or are having dc problems.(which looks like is very common). There is a Huge amount of roping in this game.
It is Hs in general. Mercenaries is the same and also, probably, duels. But it is a problem with the game in general.
I rope the people but not voluntary. For example, If I am playing mercenaries and I lose some 50/50 percentages in a row for which I lose I will esc from the game at the last 50. This is an involuntary action and a rope for the opponent. This is an issue with HS, the game can become frustrating.
Blizzard could make it a little harder to rage quit, if they removed the option to Quit during a game.. (I know there are other ways to exit without conceding).
Imo it hasn't "changed" really though. Sore losers aswell as bad winners -spamming greetings instead of killing you off for example- are a common thing in (I assume) every online game. It has been a thing since the beginning of Hearthstone, really. At least in the time I played (I was absent during rumble and ~the last year).
On a sidenote: Apparently playing your whole hand instead of moving the final attack, seems not to be considered bad manners anymore or nobody cares. *shrug
This is why BGs has rapidly become are far better feeling game to play - and even if it's not quicker, it feels a lot quicker, engages the player better, and makes them feel like they have more agency and control. This is why numbers of both wild and standard players is in decline, and Battlegrounds is increasing.
I said it ages ago - if Blizzard want to save hearthstone constructed for the longer term, they need to deal with the rope. The game needs to be faster, period. The options for wasting your opponents time need to be reduced.

It's Wild. Every deck feels OP and there are numerous cards that make the game feel like a bullshit loss.
If someone doesn't understand what they're playing they'll just get salty every time.
That's why I never get salty. Their deck is bullshit, but so is mine and every other deck. But the fun thing about Wild is the consistency of archetypes.
A few years back, I made a point of trying to engage with people who friend requested. There were few who were willing to talk about it but the consistent message I got was that I was the "sixth bullshit deck in a row". It wasn't really me that tilted them, they were already raging when we started to play.
Then when I started to play Big Priest... :)

I don't think its a big problem - I play EU.

Only a few (I think they are funny).
