One thing is certain, entering Wild as a new player is almost impossible. Building the different decks demands cards from numerous expansions. Buying packs does not feel as worth it as in standard since you might only want a few cards from the specific expansion.
This almost certainly not a new idea and I doubt that it ever will happen since it means less money for Blizzard. But would it not be nice if the dusting cost for wild cards were lower? The cards are not used in standard so it would not affect that meta and it would make it easier for new players to transition into wild. One draw back is that I guess that blizzard would have to refund people for the cards they already have, totally obliterating the idea. But it would be nice to make wild easier for new players.
Why change the dusting cost if you can change the crafting cost and leave the dusting cost the same? This way, there will be no reason for any refunds.
Yes, if wild legendaries were 800 to craft and 400 to dust then it would be nice. It may even be profitable for Blizzard if demand for wild cards will rise accordingly.
Yeah I do feel a bit like people are locked out of wild really and the longer the game goes on, the harder it gets. Something along the lines of discounted dust costs or discounted packs seems reasonable. Plenty of games reduce the price of older content and it may encourage more people into playing it and spending money they otherwise wouldn't have.
I agree. Wild has been the better mode despite a few pesky decks and cards. Way more variety and viable decks that can be fun to play. Standard get stale so fast once the one or two problem decks get popular.
Hey, maybe we should sign a petition, like when we're really upset about something.
Blizzard seemed to listen when everyone spoke out about Kargal dust refunds.
I'd like to be able to craft wild cards for cheaper. Or buy wild packs for cheaper.
That is a good idea. It could be worth it to show to blizzard that they can earn revenue by letting new people into wild as well. Personally i'm getting bored of standard, but would like to play Wild even if it means buying some packs (if it is a reasonable price since it is so many expansions)
If we are talking about making wild more accessible, I would prefer if Blizzard created a "core set" type of pack that only includes cards that are actually still playable in wild because there are just too many sets and buying packs because you hope to open that one epic/leg you need, or even rare/common as a new player, feels terrible. They could add this pack to the other packs available and charge a little more gold for it maybe?
If we are talking about making crafting cheaper (or smarter in general), I am totally down to sign a petition, regardless of the format.
What? I'm the first person to eye roll at outrage but this thread seems like a fairly constructive discussion around making a game mode more accessible. I don't think people have been demanding or unreasonable, it's a fair topic to discuss, is it not?

Outrage seems very over the top.
It's a joke dude. Because it looks like it's the only way blizzard will really listen to the players. Like with battle pass.

Fair one, my sarcasm meter has nose dived in the time the Internet has been around. I just now assume people are serious. I also completely misread what you meant as well.
I personally believe that the cost of crafting Wild cads should be half, Leg 800, Epic 200, etc and the packs should cost 50 gold (May have to adjust dust refunds and dusting obviously). Would make sense as they can only be used in half of constructed modes (We don't talk about duels) and because of the sheer mass of cards which are needed to effectively play wild. Wild battle decks would also help as well, but not secret mage as we already have enough bots.
As someone said the cost should be reduced to half, I really doubt that will happen for legendarys (maybe 1200? ), but for epics and lower yeah why not. Also if they did something like that, from business perspective it probably wouldn't effect the sets from the last rotation.

Basically just ignore my reply completely.
Regardless of where the sarcasm lied, you had a point in the above statement. This conversation has stayed appropriate, well mannered, and really focused on discussing an issue rather than complaining about it. People have shared their thoughts and possible solutions too. It's a nice change of pace to the normal banter of people who only know how to complain on this website. I really appreciate the people who have kept the conversation lively.

This is where even having promo events could be a place to start. Wild weekends and things like that, with reduced pack prices and enchanting costs. I'm dipping my toe in now but I've also got a shit load of dust so it's OK for me but I've been squirreling away dust for ages now, not everyone can do the same.
Maybe starting with a well communicated event where the first weekend of each month is wild weekend. Put on some bundles and discounts, do that for an expansion life cycle and see what uptake is. You don't have to commit to continue doing it, just be really clear in the communication that these are the dates it will happen for and after x period, we will review and may do similar in the future. If the interest is there and they end up making more on wild packs and seeing more activity there than usual, maybe continue it?
Wild isn’t more expensive then standard. There are several cheap decks (around 4-5k dust) like secret mage, token druid, odd decks in general (mainly paladin), odd warrior, odd dh, aggro pala, handbuff pala, libram pala is cheap if you have the standard cards, big priest (vargoth is the only legendary), darkglare (no legendarys required), apm mage ( only stargazer luna, Mozaki version is worse then wakers ), murloc shaman (if you have the standard cards, btw you don’t need the quest it’s bad), quest rouge, discard lock, new cute zoolock (both need only Solarium and no epics), pirate warrior (quite expensive, needs rokara, patches, Leroy (patches is a good craft for rogue aggro (odd/kingsbane) and token druid with minions). Most expensive slow decks use the same legendarys (Reno, kazakus, zola, zilliax). Raza priest isn’t as expensive as you might think plus the highlander cards see play outside of it. Very expensive are greedy renolocks and control warlocks, reno lunas pocket Galaxy mage, things like Reno shudder shaman (in general all greedy decks, but they tend to be bad:D)
best decks right now should be apm mage (if played right), handbuff pala, darkglare, secret mage -> all cheap.
if you are really interested in wild you should look at the vs data reaper report for wild. You will see that it isn’t as expensive as you would think, many standard cards see play, and keep in mind that dust cost on websites don’t take the cards you have got for free in the core set into account (e.g. the 5 cost 3/3 divine shield tutor)

Well it seems like it's outrage time again.

It's a good idea. Maybe they'll think about it when they're done thinking about golden upgrades...
Take a walk on the wild side...

This would be a great change and would promote Wild a lot more and make it more interesting for players to try, but I doubt it will ever happen.
This is a must.
We've enjoyed these cards, we "got our money's worth", newer players should get to enjoy them as well.
Reduce the dust cost, reduce the pack price, make bundles better, make wild accessible.
At the moment however they don't seem to focus much on Wild, so I don't expect this to happen any time soon.

Yes, they would.
