If what you say is true and you're only facing those two decks, then it should be easy to counter them with something that beats both and shoot your way up to legend in a day.
Or you can keep complaining while you play the same deck that keeps losing.
I agree the metas in neither standard nor wild are not the best at the moment.
It has been mentioned before that Raza priest, big priest and secret mage is a very tough trip to tech against. Secret mage tends to run you over if you tech against the other 2. Then, there are plenty of other strong decks like odd paladin and token druid which make things even more complicated.
Your opponents obviously CAN play other decks, but the true tryhard Wild meta starts around 11 stars, and they will play what they win the most with. You will find more variety further down, but still expect a lions share of priests and secret mages.
Yep its true and its sad. Wild meta was for quiet some time great. Rez Priest had a horrible return.
Im basicly at the same spot as you. I finished around Legend 700 where i literally played 10 games in a row against priests. I even send a screenshot to my m8, since i have never seen this before since beta :O
Since the new season started the priests went back a little and more mages came in. From Bronze to D5 i had 68% of my games against Secret Mage and Priests. I wanted to go legend as a shaman. But i couldnt build a shaman deck that beats both so i gave up.
Atm im at D2. From D5 to D2 i met only 9% mage but still the 55% priests...
Used to play highlander quest hunter in wild and reached legend with it a few months ago. Now they nerfed Dinotamer Brann, so, with the Brann-Brann combo gone, HL hunter has no chance against priest anymore. One more fun deck gone from the format. At least Cubelock has lost its popularity, it was on pair stupid with the priests and secret mages.
My advice: Just keep grinding till you make legend. If you want to make it easier on yourselves consider playing one of the 3 broken decks until you reach legend. Once in legend start playing your favorite meme/off-meta decks. The first 10-15 matches will mostly be tough losses to Secret Mages and Priests. But once you drop to ~2k legend or worse you will realize that the meta there is different and full of other legend-ranked players who enjoy their tier3-tier4 decks
Against priests its pretty easy, i could have done better. Lost 2 games cause of own mistakes. Against Secret Mages there is really nothing to do...Warlocks seem to be easy and Druids too...wxcept you get overrun in the start:)
Wild meta is kinda shit rn. Last three games were against secret mages and then I faced a reno priest then a big priest right after. So I win nearly all the time as mill rogue against priest and my winrate is positive against secret mage but only if I draw my antisecret tech cards quickly.
But this game has devolved into rock paper scissors. Feels like I run into way more aggro decks when I’m trying to play mill rogue and then when I actually play a deck that counters aggro I end up facing up against the secret mages and priests.
I hate blizzard the most honestly. They know damn well that the wild community hates big priest and secret mage yet they continue printing synergies for those decks.

Those are the only players willing to play this shit, that's why they print stuff like that. I had to play secret mage for years. The other options were Sicklock and Dumb Priest, I (and many others) don't have time or patience to play with decks that require no brains only turns. But, secret mage was more smart, now is just another curve aggro deck with benefits.
Apparently at 11 star bonus, all I face are secret mages and highlander priests.
I find it hilarious my opponents can't play anything else but these cancer trash decks.
Nice!you know what to tech up against!
You mean...100% only these decks? Thats 100% winrate for you if u build your deck right , then!
Have to agree. Try to sub something for Eater of Secrets and Maybe Albatroz or Weasel Tunneler.
Ya dude I'm semi afking odd warrior with chief inspector against them lul
Sure, some decks can do this, but not all decks have the luxury to play tech cards.
Currently playing a Reno Shaman deck that runs Eater of Secrets, Sir Finley Mrrgglton, Grizzled Wizard, Devolving Missiles, Devolve, Plague of Murlocs, and Hex among many other cards. Excellent counter to Big and Reno Priest, fares decently against Secret Mage. 22-10 with it at the moment.

However, I could not agree more how monotonous and frustrating it is to play against the same 2-3 overtuned decks every single game.

So much tech cards and then u get none of the decks u tech for and dead cards.

So in the end i made it to legend with a regular kinda old school Quest Mage:
https://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1375266-legend-quest-mage-63-winrate
35% Priests (14-8)
23% Mages (2-10)
16% Warlock (8-2)
13% Druid (6-2)
Against priests its pretty easy, i could have done better. Lost 2 games cause of own mistakes. Against Secret Mages there is really nothing to do...Warlocks seem to be easy and Druids too...wxcept you get overrun in the start:)
