The incoming expansion brings support to Wild Secret Mage, so I was wondering if I should keep Aluneth or replace it with Sayge, Seer of Darkmoon.
The thing is, Aluneth is incredible, but it could easily fatigue you and kill you. Sayge will surely make you draw less cards, but it could make you refill your hand without waiting for next turn, as his ability is a battlecry.
I am not sure which one is better. Aluneth sure draws you more cards overall, but sometimes you might die to fatigue
Sage will often draw you around 5 cards on the turn played (and not at the end of turn like Aluneth, btw) so you get some more immediate value + a decent body. I would cut Aluneth and give Sage a try, if you feel the deck is weaker you can always go back
I think there could be some funny deck in Wild which uses a lot of secrets and then Pocket Galaxy to discount Togwaggle and Sayge to 1, then draw your opponents deck :d Potion of Illusion could be fun with Sayge too.
Overall, I'd say its hard to judge one to be objectively better. Aluneth continuously refills your hand but requires another weapon to stop it going out of control whereas Sayge is a one-time larger reload but won't ever kill you from fatigue and will mill your own cards less often.
Remember Sayge draws cards for number of secrets triggered in that game, and by turn 8 on average it should be 3-5 secrets, so Aluneth is way better than Sayge

Sage has some important advantages (beside the fatigue mentioned):
- Sage draws 1 + all activated secrets, so I think that by turn 6-7 you get at least 4 cards and maybe much more.
- Sage provides 5/5 Body and draws immediately = much more tempo at least on the short term.
- Sage has No risk of weapon removal/Zephyrs (very popular in wild)
- Sage will not burn you cards like Aluneth usually does.
I agree that on average Aluneth draws much more but its not 100% clear that it is better
Firstly, you definitely shouldn’t cut Aluneth. Nowadays, you play Aluneth on turn 6, you prettty much just win. Sayge on the other hand is like 6 mana draw around 3 if played on curve. You need Sayge if you are not drawing into Aluneth. It just provides more consistency in draw other than Aluneth which I think is pretty important. Btw, if your opponent is not dead by the time you reach fatigue, the game is done for you either way. So I really think you should keep both, and run both.
People who says %100 true or wrong always will be mistaken bec everything changes.I agree with you.We will see how meta devolop and understand which card is better.
Practically no wild deck plays Aluneth nowadays. Sayge is played on turn 8-10 and allows you to refill your hand drawing 5 or more cards. Together with rigged game it is enough to win, with no risk of fatigue.
Playing both aluneth and sage in your deck will massively decrease your chance of finding perfect mulligan and close the game very quick (this is how secret mage generally wins) and you face most of the time aganist aggro decks especially below dia 3 that includes matchups that only thing matters is the tempo.
By the numbers, Sage is slightly better. It should be noted that Rigged Faire Game gives a very nice additional draw option, so the massive Aluneth draw is not as crucial, on top of mentioned weaknesses.

Aluneth is best...u can use the new neutral weapon to cut ur fatigue but most of time u win the game before die for fatigue, unless u play very bad or the guy has very lucky (like 3+ Renos and Zephrys on hand) EDIT: I'm a Legend player in Wild playing more games with Secret Mage than other archetypes. 700Legend today. Which I can say is that: Tech Sayge if u're facing lots of weapon destroyers or stupid zephrys destryoing ur weapon every time. This is the best scenario I see Sayge and Aluneth being both good on deck. The other scenario is to thin ur deck fast and win fast, which is the point in playin a tempo secret mage like this one. I don't use Sayge, I don't have it and I don't think is important right now, specially after Nerfs. If I face too much Reno Priests with many copies of zephrys I may consider craft it, but right now, doesn't feel like, just waste of dust.

What do you guys think?
Alnueth is far better than Sage. No contest whatsoever.
This.

Run both to assert dominance.
Quoting Aluneth: "More. I must have more."
whats better, a guaranteed repeating effect or a 1 time effect with conditions. Aluneth is better

nice post lul
No, you should not run both.
