Hey all! I'm a returning player from frozen throne, and mostly enjoyed playing shotgun priest, elemental mage and elemental shaman. For the last 3 weeks or so I've been active again and have been playing the kal'aetas togwaggle druid.
Now, I've reached diamond 5 and I want to switch to another deck. However, I cannot seem to find a strong competitive deck to finish with, I've been out of the game for so long. I've seen Dane's decks of course but I'm not sure if these are fun or actually competitive...
I've got over 50 leggies and a load of unused epics, so I was wondering if any of you know a good wild ladder deck?
Quest mage, cube and discolock are all good decks to climb with. Quest mage is still the best deck available (for good reason) so if you can craft that you're just fine. Since you liked playing shotgun priest though, why not play that then? It's not too fast to climb with (obviously) but it's still tier 1, easily (with a bad matchup against quest mage and a good one against everything else).
Honestly, with all the dust you have on your hands, you could craft goodness knows how many decks. Try a couple of cheap ones (discolock and secret mage for instance, or maybe mech handbuff pally) and see if they're good enough (they should be). Dane's deck are, yes, more fun than ladder-viable, usually. If you want to check decks that compete at high legend these two links should help you
Dead Mans Hand Warrior isn’t the best deck to climb with, but it’s very very fun. Bulwark of Azzinoth and Corsair Cache are pretty great additions. It has one of the highest skill ceilings of any deck in the game, very little RNG, and counters most decks on ladder.
Tempostorm has a meta analyses in wild. Personally I have great succes with shotgun priest, often I have taken them down from as high as the mid 40s in one turn
Ah, do you run velen? I'm still tweaking my version to create a balance between cheap spells and draw, but velen + mindblast would be a great inclusion! Also wondering about including thaurissan.....
I do not run Velen. I run spawn of shadows. It works great
I use the list from Tempostorm with small modifikations. Emporer, Dragonqueen Alex, and Jepetto is great for having cheap cards for the pings. So when you play agaist decks with a lot of life dont use the two dragons og the 1 mana cards
It's not like the controlly combo decks you love, but murloc paladin is great for climbing, since it's got a very high winrate, has almost no dead matchups, and the games are very fast

I've played some murloc games back around un'goro, and wasn't too good at it, I dumped my hand always too quick and ended up with an empty hand and empty board. Same with pirate warrior xD I suck at aggro if you didn't get it already.

Jepetto, huh? Interesting.... it makes sense but it's not the deck I am familiar with, with the gargoyles, lyra, and the 2 mana 2/3 elemental that cheapens spells...

My deck is almost entirely healing and card draw and board clear. And the the Reno package of course. And then spawn so you can deal 6 damage per card you use.
I would say Jepetto is strong because I only use valuable minions to play as a 1 mana, and it helps with having cheap cards
At D5/D1 level, it's a numbers game. There are no win streaks and double-stars, just one up and one down. So, with a 60% winrate deck, there should be 3 games won for 2 lost. And that stats is for playing the deck perfectly, no room for any blunders.
The decks are more/less of a rock-paper-scissors principle, there is no magic one that beats everyone - so it's just grinding. Guess for us with scarce time it makes sense to play with an aggro deck, so a game lasts a few minutes max (as opposed to two Res-Priests meeting each other, the thing turns into a test-cricket game: five days that ends in a draw).
I'd say it would also make sense for a newcomer to pick an easy to play deck, especially at the D5 to D1 level. It takes some time to master all the tricks and combinations of an intricate e.g. Warlock deck, as opposed to e.g. Mech Paladin (or maybe Secret Mage), which is relatively a no-brainer...

I understand this, I asked because I'm a returning player with a lot of experience and old cards, but with no insight of the current meta, decks ect. I'm not asking for an (non-existing) ez 100% winrate deck. I just want to know what decks I should play on competitive wild ladder. That's all! And I have gotten some great feedback so far!

Wow, I didn't expect any replies at this point! I will try both shotgun priest again as well as DMH warrior! Thanks, you guys!

Mechpaladin is very strong and rather cheap to build.
To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
