Litterally 80% of wild is Secret Mage, Im tired of playing vs that, even at rank 4 (my current rank), all they fucking do is target face, they completly ignore the board. It is as frustrating as Big Priest :(
I even had to create a Secret/Anti-secret Hunter deck to 100% counter them. Now when I face a secret mage, i usually rope them.
What's your feeling of this deck?
FYI, I currently only play Reno Lock as I don't have lot of other class card
A nuisance for sure, but if that's 80% of your opponents, then yeah, just hard counter it and bask in their tears :)
I'm playing RenoLock in Wild too btw (R7-8 atm), and they are not such a big issue. They can win, for sure, but I still win more against them. My only tech is Eater of Secrets, and if they become 80% of my pocket meta (far from it right now), I might add a Kezan Mystic too. I do run a lot of healing/taunt though - Mistress of Mixtures, Rotten Applebaum, Khartut Defender, Zilliax, High Priestess Jeklik, even Aranasi Broodmother - so that helps a lot to keep the health up (and generally make any kind of aggro deck cry).
Yeah, the meta is bad now with the flood of Secret Mages. But we have to adapt and surpass the pressure of the cancers. You can try double Kezans, double Eater and double Inspector and double Flare for double the FUN.
Just change your deck around the meta. I also play big priest in wild and I've changed my deck around so that it's GOOD against secret mage. And yes, it's still good vs other classes too. I've reached legend with this:
Yah secret mage is probably the most cancerous deck of all time so gl.
While I too dislike the deck, it is nowhere near cancerous as Star Aligner Druid or Naga Sea Witch Warlock. In fact I went 12-4 against them around rank 5 with Reno Hunter.
And how do you think people feel about big priest............probably also tired
I would rate Big Priest B or C tier. Statistically it really isn't a good deck to rank up with.
The whole "nerf big priest" rant is really something that was still relevant ~6 months ago. It was a issue for so long that even now, months later, people still say it because it's been fried in their brains for so long. The average big priest between rank 5-legend has a winrate of 53%. Thats faaaaaaar less than secret mages, and reno locks & mages.

It is even possible to climb the ladder (till rank 5) with a secret mage without Aluneth, so this deck is really cheap as it does not contain epic or legendary cards. So I can understand the secret mage players but I also have teched my deck against this plague.
Have you tried the new quest taunt warrior? using fireplume's heart, shaggy and armagedillos? it eats secret mages alive, i was using that to counter secret mages with relative ease until murphy's law kicked in full force and i found myself fighting a sea of Renolocks
Absolutely agree. At this point it's either Reno Lock or Secret mage. At levels 6-4 I have played 28% secret mages. That is a crazy amount. Accordingly, I have adopted two lovely Kezan Mystics into my deck and they feast on those counterspells and iceblocks. Mage tears taste like candy to me.
Why Kezan Mystic and not Eater of Secrets? Kezan only steals one secret, Eater of Secrets can take much more secrets. Or do you just want to use the mage secret against the enemy mage?
I think another issue worth mentioning is that this huge uptick in secret mages and subsequent increase in anti-secret tech cards means other decks that run secrets are currently utterly forced out of the meta. Hunter, paladin and, to a much lesser extent, rogues have effectively had their card pool shrunk in wild through no fault of their own.

To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
Hmm.. funny. I used secret mage as well to get to rank 4. Didn't bother to get any further, the game became repetitive and I saw a lot of counters against secret mage (yes a lot of frustration for Eater of Secrets and kezan). Also I had to play a lot against other secret mages. So much, that even as a secret mage myself, I included kezan for countering the mirror matches.
But I don't think the deck is a problem on its own. It is really strong yes, but so are other aggro decks like mech hunter and odd paladin. And there are easy ways to counter the deck, which is happening a lot right now. So I don't think there is a actual problem.
FYI, I currently only play Reno Lock as I don't have lot of other class card
The whole part of hearthstone is to play different classes and different archtypes. It wouldn't be a healthy game if you always win with the same type of deck.

cant blame ppl for playing a strong AND cheap deck in wild

Thats too much; I would say, every third opponent is a secret mage. And I love to abuse them for climbing up the ladder.
What’s the best deck against secret mage ?
Odd warrior.
Odd warrior performs well against secret mage but odd warrior is a tier 3 deck.

Well that is just sad. If this is your solution for your own frustration, then I think it is better to take a break.
