It makes no sense. If you want to play with or against Meta Decks then play WIld Ranked. If you want to earn Gold through wins, then at least play a fast aggro deck, not a Super, Super slow grind it out deck.
I have only been able to reach 2 possible conclusions:
1)They are not good enough to win on Ranked so they need to go to Unranked to try to find opponents using fun decks
2)They are praying for Auto Condedes from their opponents, hoping that their opponents who went to Unranked to play vs Non Meta Decks will concede rather than playing against even more meta decks
Some people learn to pilot those decks in casual for example...
Others have some quests to do and prefer not to lose rank while doing so etc....
There are many many reasons...but in my opinion your conclusions are either wrong or false and based on you being salty.
The primary point of having a separation between ranked and unranked is so that meta decks can be played in ranked and you can actually play other types of decks in unranked. If you cannot see why people who would go to unranked would not be thrilled to see more of the decks that they specifically are wanting to avoid then I do not know how to explain it any further
Because this is a common kind of whining priest players who want their class to be the best of all. Let these priests with bad breaths have their class reputation get worse. I don't worry as I have gotten used to it anyway.
It's also another same thing as odd paladin all over again, so give them a no-choice win and let them feel they have reached their fake legend rank in casual games. Casual should have renamed to "Unranked" for this purpose.
OP here is a deep thought for you to ponder - maybe they play the deck because they consider it FUN to play. I don't, but I try not to superimpose my own personal inclinations on everyone else.
Priest in wild is pretty close to the worst thing in HS. I always assumed things like secret pally would forever reign supreme in that mode but its hard to miage something more powerful than current res priest.
Maybe there is a secret agreement between people, who hate big priest - they intentionally play it to make Blizzard statistics so awful, that they finally nerf it.
I think one of the key factors is that big priest is unironically the cheapest priest deck , and you may be thinking, how is it the cheapest priest deck if it's loaded with legendaries? but hear me out, the bunch of Legendaries that BP uses are a ton of neutral legends that you want to use in many other decks anyways, chances are that many players already had those even before BP was a thing, things like Rag, Yharaaj and Barnes are all cards that had been used in competitive decks in the past by the time Eternal Servitude and Obsidian Statue got printed so many players were already likely to have the deck, not only that but those legends are fairly safe crafts, they're powerful, serviceable and fairly splashable, plus the class epics that bp uses are what would you call a "class neutral" card, they're class cards that every deck of the class likes to use regardless of the archetype, think something like Backstab for rogue; all of Shadow VisionsObsidian Statue and the priest's AoE of choice in cards Mass Hysteria, Dragonfire PotionLightbomb and Psychic Scream are all cards that can be used in Prest decks outside big priests so they are cards that are good bang for your buck and enable you to play different archetypes, now contrast this with other Priest archetypes' legendaries and epics Twilight Acolyte is a seriously crappy card outside of Dragon priest Raza the Chained cam only be used in highlander decks Prophet Velen only fits in very specific priest decks And you cant use any of those cards outside of priest for obvious reasons
TL;DR: Big priest is literally the cheapest priest deck around because other priest decks use massive amounts of ridicolously niche epics and legendaries while BP uses cards you most likely have thanks to them being neutrals that you may use/ have used in other decks.

Blizz really needs to nerf big priest and the above article points out how big of a problem big priest is. There's still hope Barnes finally gets nerfed to 5 or even 6 mana.

Barnes nerf wont do too much I think. The biggest "problem" about Big Priest is Archmage Vargoth on T4.

Yes this is so annoying! Probably they want to try other net decks but don't want to risk their rank?
Play wild ranked ... between 17-13 it was for me around 95% big priest or Big resurrect priests
I love the idea of wild but it always ends for me annoyed by those priest decks.
My current mage deck (wild,reno,otk,highlander)
My current hunter deck (wild,reno,highlander)
"The game is dead"
Every salty hearthstone player
3) Just doing it to troll people.

I like elementals and totems.

B/c Wild is a fake mode

If you are frustrated with Big Priests in casual you can just create anti Big Priest deck and concede all matches except big priests.
I have to say...this is A great idea!

Very interesting point
When I'm feeling down, I go big priest hunting in casual with a transform deck that also spams junk minions on their board.
When I get a big priest player, I usually perk right up.
However, you'd be surprised how long it takes me to actually get a big priest matchup.
