its the best neutral legendary of this set ( like The Lich King, Zilliax etc.) he is never bad, and in 2 Hs jears he will even be more insane when some new crazy spells come, i gues he will be broken at some point (like now in priest...^^)
I behind of the board, play him + Cinderstorm, opponent trade the remining damaged minions to kill him and the game was even again in the board and me with 2 cards more than my opponent.
Depend what card you combine and become far from "win more" card.
Cloning priest‘s (Standard) consistancy has gone up a lot, otherwise it‘s a new Barnes at best! (Wich is still pretty good).
With shadowy essence and spellstone rotating, his reign is soon to be over..
Any mage deck with Arcane Intellect or Cinderstorm or any warrior deck with Shield block or the dragon spell can use this card easily and get a lot of value from it.
I play control most of the time, this card and Zilliax will be in all my decks.
Priest is by far the most broken with this card, at least until the rotation hits. The eternal servitude, Spellstone, and shadow essence mixed with Malygos is beyond OP. Insert a couple of low cost damage spells and you get blown up by turn 7, if not sooner. Most of those cards will be rotated out once the new expansion hits, thankfully, but as of right now... yikes.
I think he's borderlining on too strong but not quite there. As just a pure effect he's not broken but there may be combo(s) in the future that cause him to be.
i think in standard in priest right now he is broken, but that will only be for two more days so it's not a big deal. I don't think he will be as broken in a new version of standard resurrect priest because the main cards that make it currently broken will be gone (shadow essence, eternal servitude, 7 mana spellstone.
In wild he isn't broken in priest, priest is doing much more broken shit than playing Vargoth. I run him in jade druid and it's insanely powerful to play/pull with oaken summons, jade idol, jade blossom, etc.
I’d say it’s pretty nuts in Wild Big Priest. People who say he’s bad with Barnes don’t know what they’re talking about. If he gets pulled from Barnes he can instantly start being ressurected and being insane value. He isn’t just good with diamond spell stone, he’s good with Ressurect, Shadow Essence, Eternal Servitude, and mind blast in the OTK variant. If he comes in to the ressurect minion pool, he basically doubles all of your ressurect spells. That is insane. He is probably single handedly the best shadow essence target.
Vargoth is gross in priest right now, and he has a pretty good statline considering his effect, look at ixlid at 5 mana. Hopefully things calm down once the new meta comes in.

Sure but in this scenario, it‘s just a 3rd copy of good spells. As i said, at best a Barnes-like effect for spells.
Priests can double, tripple,.... up his effect which makes this card realy strong! And that is only with resurrection but they are pretty good cloners aswell!
What makes him so strong in Priest is that he DOESN'T necessarily have to be on board when you res, just in the res pool, and the one brought back will cast it again at the end of the turn. I've seen priests just drop him for tempo and mass rez several turns later. I dont think he's broken, but definitely strong, and you have to play smart to get through it.
By "perfect nerf" I assume you mean completely rendering it useless?
Any counter argument attempts can be referred to Nat Pagle where they will be promptly and irrevocably shot down.
No, I am not rendering it useless. I am just trying to find fair and safe balance, if at all, Vargoth became broken at one point. And, btw, your argument related to Nat Page is irrelevant. Like, seriously?
You must not have been around when Nat Pagle was an end of turn rather than start of turn effect. He was in every deck pre-nerf, and in zero post-nerf. The timing is essential to they're playability, and turning Vargoth into a start of turn would render it essentially useless aka the Nat Pagle outcome.

So yeah, I'm "like, serious".
Point taken. However, draw a card isn't serious issue here if compared to Vargoth's ability. Thus, your argument proves how dangerous "end of turn" effects are, rather than "start of turn" effects.
No he doesn't. He just have to have died at some point. If you now resurrect him with mas resurrect than you will cast a second copy at the end of the turn.
However I don't believe big priest has enough early game/combo possibilities after rotation to actually keep a strong winrate. Especially the 4 mana resurrect and 6 mana summon 5/5 will be such a big loss. Just try to play a game without them ;-) this is ofc talking about standard

It's literally impossible for a build around legend to be the BEST, simply because if you don't have the support the power level is nothing. He's strong but seriously, if people don't understand the basic mechanics of how the game works they should show some humility in their opinions...instead of being the typical ignorant commenter we see majoratively here.

Yet, this topic is about Wild, and you comment regarding Standard, and rotation? Geez, discuss in Standard if you care about rotation because Wild doesn't care about it.

It's gonna suck for wild though.

I'm grateful for your comment, but this is Wild section, you know? Why Wild players care about rotation in all honesty?

I don't think its an issue.... YET
I agree. Let's wait and see how Vargoth will be.
the only possible issue i can see it being is in Big Priest in Wild, but i mean, maybe Team 5 will take care of that, but I cannot guarantee that
