I'll echo the sentiment of playing any deck up to rank 10, heck sometimes even up to rank 5 because some people really like to meme on rank 5 , once you reach 5 if you want to climb to legend and find yourself short on budget just play mech hunter, i'ts dirt cheap, uses a crap ton of standard cards, and basically theonly legendary it needs is ziliax who you should probably own already. if your budget is a little higher you could even build an even shamman since it's also cheap af after you get the Aya (and theoretically the lich king who syou should also own already)
Look for decks that have very few bad match ups. So, Odd Paladin, Even Shaman, Reno Warlock.
Grinding with a tier 2 or lower deck is an exercise in frustration.
e: for whatever it's worth, the decks I noticed tend to do better in Wild are ones that do not rely on board interaction. And those 3 decks I mentioned tend to not care about what their opponent manages to get to stick on board. There are more than just those, look here and here for an idea of what decks tend to be performers.
Also by using the quest you lose out on early murloc snowball wins with tidecaller into preferably rock pool into warleader which is one of the primary benefits of playing a murloc deck. And also the primary win condition of every murloc deck is to win by turn 4 or 5 so the quest usually ends up being rather pointless because usually murlocs can’t win late game anyway and a mega fin and a bunch of random murlocs don’t have much of a chance of changing that.
It is however very fun and if that is what you care about then do it because it is at least a fast deck and you can grind out wins pretty quick even though you won’t really be able to climb with it
As for the Wild meta itself, you can easily tech in some Hex, Earth Shock or other nice anti-wall cards.
Imo, the new Sludge Slurper alone is enough to ensure a strong start with Murlocs, until you can go for power turns. Maybe not top tier, due to stuff like Devolve and Defile in the meta, but viable.
And, as I said, you can try yourself with 0 extra dust. Don't be afraid to play with a Standard deck in Wild. Nothing to lose anyway.
EDIT: there you go, MutuhPwn just proved me right.
A possible addition might be old murk-eye but i don't have him and don't want to spend 1600 dust for it. Also quest is bad for this deck as you need that turn 1 murloc play, also it holds a space for the mulligan which can be crucial. Devolve is a must against big priest as well. A hex can be added as there are many big priests in the meta atm.
The worst matchup is odd paladin. There is really little chance against it as they can flood the board much easir than you. 2 good devolves might be the only way that you can with against odd paladin.

I was playing quest shamman a month ago at rank 9-6 and is a perfectly viable deck

This one is great fun!
Grab LoE adventure for the key cards in the deck. You could craft them, but there's heaps of good cards in the adventure.
Definitely keen to tweak the deck with the new set. Control decks hurt this quite a bit.

I did, guys!
congratulations Mutuhpwn for that well deserved legend
Tnx!)
Now we know that Murloc Shaman can be good in wild)
Just play your own Standard Murloc Shaman in Wild.
You will see for yourself how powerful it is, and then you can consider crafting stuff like Everyfin is Awesome, Rockpool Hunter, and/or Old Murk-Eye, Loatheb later, etc.
