I am playing on my alt-account and i am trying to figure out how to unlock wild mode. On the hearthstone gamepedia it says that i need to participate in a brawl with wild cards, well i did that and it won't work. Nothing happened.
I created an alt account with the new 50-26 ranks to see what that experience was like. Randomly with one of the nerfs being pushed through I logged in and got the "end of year" animation showing the standard year going from Mammoth to Raven, even though it was well into Year of the Raven already. After that it was unlocked! I know that doesn't help, but it was a random bug that went to my advantage.
"For new players, Wild mode will be locked away until they participate in a Tavern Brawl that includes Wild cards. They can also obtain a card which is not part of the current Standard format. Prior to this, the player will only be able to select Standard format, create Standard decks, and craft standard cards."
That's so weird, why would Blizzard want to hide Wild mode from new players?
because new players dont know shit about the game and they want to stop them from crafting cards that they might never use, Standard is the default mode for the game and wild is only for people who know what they're doing
