seeing all those threads nerfing cards and then crying about why not nerfing another card and on and on and on. I want to ask perhaps nerfing but more adding, changing, buffing other cards.
i love wild and i know a lot of players unfortunately don't play it. Perhaps because they disenchant cards of the old set to get the new ones because they are freetoplay players witch is sad but i understand it. For those that just don't play it - try it out because it's fun!
Now to the real deal:
some classes are very bad some are very good and thats ok but i think the gap between them is to big. What i thought would be awesome is do get a wildexclusiv expansion once ore twice a year for some changes. Not a big expansion of 135 cards but maybe 50 cards or even less. The cards can be powerfull because of wild being so powerfull. I don't know about nerfing cards or buffing them. But just imagine blizzard doing something for wild players to. Yes new sets in standart are in wild automatically but they lack in power in comparison to the huge cardpool we have. They make very slim differences. Let me know what you have to say.
Wild only sets will probably never happen. Blizzard won't make much money off of them since the wild only players are a much smaller group than standard/casual wild players.
However I think that it could be a good idea. If they did this then they should also offer old wild packs for gold instead of just money. But once again, that won't make Blizz much money.
I di not think the solution is to make new powerfull cards for wild. that will just rain the power level bar and leave all new cards from new expansion even less impactful. Ib blizzard were to do anything, and I am not saying that they should, it would be to bring in some more tech orintiated cards. One could be a low stats minion for a high price, call it "Cannibal" and give it an effect that it eats 50% of creatures which have died, ie they can not be resummoned. That would be a thing to tech against big priest.
but again, I am worried about introducing new powerfull cards to combat what is there at them moment
Don't worry, Barnes will get it's nerf, but if you looked at the numbers, then you see that Big Priest isn't as overpowered as you think and it has pretty healthy counters. Kingsbane-Rogue can still destroy Big Priest; but not as consistent. And in most cases, aggro will destroy the big priest too. Priest was until now the second worst class, if Big Priest will really dominate the meta, then wait until barnes get his nerf: I think that barnes might simply be nerfed to 5-6 mana; then Big Priest will not run him anymore.
There is already a barnesless big priest variant out there that works; so removing this card might not destroy big priest at all. And Rogue still exist including Kingsbane, just that a rogue can no longer fire and forget with it's card. Still: as long as they have vanish, coldlight oracle AND Sap, Rogue will still counter big priest easily. And as said before: Kingsbane will still destroy the deck, MILL ROGUE totally destroys Big Priest and Aggro most of the time too. As do Pirate Warrior, AGGRO SHAMAN (a deck that people seem to have forgotten because of the power level of Even shaman), Exodia Mage and even Mech Hunter can destroy it.
Still: i can understand and even want a nerf to barnes; it would remove this card as a highroll-one and make big priest a much fairer deck. Because if i really hate one thing (and this even in Spell hunter) is Barnes into Y'sharrj into Y'sharrj.
But in the end: just look at the numbers now: they are still too low to prove anything substantial, but before Big Priest needs a nerf, there are countless other decks out there that need nerf too: and don't forget that nerfing something in Priest also buffs shaman and Hunter; and right now we definitively don't want that in wild too. Even now with one of the big competitors gone, Big Priest is by far not stronger as even shaman (it can counter it yes, but in general it's not stronger).
They should just periodically nerf whatever rules the meta for too long. Even Shaman is probably the biggest offender atm, as explosive as taplocks but with an earlygame that can match any aggro deck.
Druid and mage are in a rough spot in Wild atm, I really hope they unnerf and HOF some cards next rotation.
Wild is really fun, there are so many decks to play. It's just a shame that they are all overshadowed by the top decks. I think it wouldnt hurt to take a look at some of the craziest cards in wild, such as Barnes.
I don't have access, but I'm sure anyone with access can check or even post, the Win-Rate impact Barnes has for that deck on curve is likely ridiculous.
<snip>
Just a small sentence to it: while you are absolutely right that when you mulligan barnes, your winrate go up; if you are not so lucky, and keep barnes in your deck, your winrate will absolutely go down. Believe me, that when you Shadow Essence a Barnes out of your deck, the chance to win will be around 25-30%, or even lower.
Because of this, there is already a quite good list of Barnesless Big Priest out there. At least here your Shadow Essence will never pull out Barnes. Still yes, just look at keleseth; if you highroll or mulligan him, he can get ridiculous. But if not, then you will have big problems, because top-decking him will drastically lower your winrate. The chance that you draw barnes out of your deck is quite high if you count the numbers.
Still: i think the issue is not the winrate of Big Priest, it's the frustration when something like this happens that the opponent plays a card and you know you are now fighting a probably losing battle. This High-Rolling cards are ok when you are around turn 6-10, but at 4, you feel helpless, since you simply can't do anything about it. Because around 6 mana, most of the classes have already hard-removal available. And othes already won the game then.

Top decks are going to exist all of the time. It doesn't matter if it is Big Priest, or Control Lock, or Odd Pally, or Combo Druid, etc. If you nerf one something has to get pushed to the top. People think that if you nerf a dozen cards that the meta won't stagnate. It always will. Nerfing something just to shake things up just kills decks under the misinformed perspective that there still won't be a meta when the dust settles.

Again: remove barnes, genn and baku.
And all will be well.

Yes try it out and play the same boring decks that are in standard that is in wild.
