Single Target: Entomb is just brokeback.and it beats the Sap by miles if you have the mana to spare, contender for best Single-Target removal in the game.
I agree. Entomb is so crazy. I run that in all of my priest decks.
Lord Godfrey, Shadowreaper Anduin (kills boards of growing green men), MeteorDefile, Lightbomb, Dragonfire Potion, wait infirc why not scream?, wild is about a lot of tempo and the 1 mana difference between scream and the other two actually matters, Godfrey comes on top despite being 7 mana because he leaves a body on the board after the clear, also Frost Nova+Doomsayer, if it ain't broke don't fix it xD.
Sorry if this isn't completely on topic, but I have a question regarding a Wild AoE, Sleep with the Fishes. Is this card used in Wild? I got 2 golden copies I'm thinking about DE'ing them to craft Zul'jin.
It's a legendary thus acceptable it have a powerful effect.
Vilespine is such bullshit. Let me play a minion and remove one of yours regardless of it's stats and keywords.
Duskbreaker is stupid. Im not a fan of brain dead aggro decks but putting down a body and 3 dmg all for 4 mana is a broken joke. #hellfirewithabodyandnodmgtoface
Hex/poly are strong and slightly counter some archetypes but you still have to interact with the transformed body.
Defile makes mathematics great. Ridiculous good but not compliant worthy.
---------
Walk the plank is a new stupid remove. Let's add a card that makes assassinate even more obsolete than vilespine did.
Malf's 1 cost 6 dmg spellstone is kind of ridiculous.
Voodoo doll is another cancer card which only a few classes can really utilize.
I personally think that Priest have both the strongest Single and Multitarget-removal:
Single Target: Entomb If we look at all removals, there is one that is very outstanding, Entomb. Entomb is like a silence + destroy card, but also put it in your deck. No, it's not even a destroy, it's a silence, transform it into a 0/0 and put a copy of it in your deck. Resurrection-Pools are nowadays quite important, and this also removes it from the resurrection-pool. And this effect might be one of the strongest ingame. 2nd place: Vilespine Slayer Assassinate on steroids. Ok, you need to combo a card, but how hard is this in Rogue. And you get a 3/4, that's equal to a 3 mana minion. Think of it; you need only to pay 2 mana for a single-target hard removal. And this does not even affect minions that can't be targeted by spells or hero-power, so Tyrantus, you are dead too. And since it's a minion that can do it, you could actually shadowstep it back in your hand and then have a 3 mana Vilespine Slayer. Or Vanish it back to your hand if it survives. Vilespine is actually only a step behind Entomb.
And Multi-Target: Psychic Scream Hands down: this is probably the best board clear in the game. Yes, we have Twisting Nether, Brawl; Lightbomb, Mass Hysteria and so on, but none of these can even come close to Psychic Scream: Not only it clears the board, it also puts everything in your opponents board; making their top-decks miserable. Yes, you will definitively lose the fatigue-war, but here's the deal: for this you let the opponent simply draw crappy cards and outvalue him. Or you allow yourself to put together your favorite OTK. Or ruining his strategy with odd-even or no spells (hunter legendary bow does not work if you shuffle into his decks his 3/3 wolves.
And since you shuffle it into your opponents board, you don't activate any deathrattles and MOST IMPORTANT; you don't kill em. Think of it; your opponents have 3 demons on board, what would you rather do: kill them and let him activate his DK to resummon them or shuffle them into your opponents board and let him redraw them again; while not being able to use the value of his DK. And with Warlock DK, Hunter Spider or N'zoth, this is surely one; no maybe even THE strongest board clear in the game.
2nd Place: Defile. Many said Lord Godfrey, and i can agree that he's very very strong, but he require more setup. Also he cost 7 mana, a place, where we can already expect Twisting Nether. This is all not the case for Defile. You can deal up to 13 board damage with the right setup. Adding spellpower here is very very strong (can't increase the damage of a battlecry), AND it only cost 2 mana. That's huge. Here you can nearly kill every board. And it's so early that it does really matter against aggro. Because at turn 7 the opponent oft does not care about it anymore as aggro: you either are dead or he quit anyway. And at 8 mana you also have Twisting Nether that requires no setup at all. Defile is hands on probably the strongest Area of Effect-removal, if there was no Psychic Scream.
Lol all the people here saying Entomb - when was the last time you actually saw it?
Everyday; ok, maybe it's unfair, because i play it. Still: the question is not it's not what's playable, but what's the best removal, and Entomb is the best of the single target removals: do you think that if there was no class restrictions, anybody would play their removal over Entomb? Siphon Soul does not even play in the same ballpark as Entomb.
The issue is that until now, control priest was simply not viable because of Kingsbane. Why use Entomb on a deck where it simply doesn't matter, because you could simply faceroll the game, literaly. This will change now, still: Entomb is probably the best single-target removal blizzard ever created. Also people, even in wild tent not to play cards that are not available in Standard.
Control didn't exist until the nerf a few days ago, and therefore 0 reasons to play Entomb. Still wins me this cards more games than i can count: for example: Entombed Rin, the first Disciple, and even managed to play her and destroy the opponents deck, a few minutes ago.
For clearing the board, probably Lord Godfrey. I haven't seen a board to this day he couldn't clear. For flipping the game state entirely, Devolve. I was very happy to see that thing rotate out of Standard.

The best removal was prenerf 2 manas warrior axe.
The class never recover after that nerf, but druid, warlock and hunter can have any number of broken cards never see the deserved nerf.

Fun > Meta
what do you have thats 4? Fireball?
Fun > Meta
Defile. the ability of a rare card costing 2 mana which can mass remove even deathrattle is nothing short of broken
1)Psychic scream(best)
2)Defile
3)Dragon Fury
4)bloodreaver guldan(so op its basically like a removal)
5)Volcano
Hard to make a tier list, but in Wild i find transform/negate effects far superior to bare removals: Sap, Polymorph, Psychic Scream, Defile, Devolve. Special mention to Vanish.
