It's always been dead. Only fun way to play wild is meme decks with the full card pool but you just get shit on by rediculously overtuned decks or the fucking mind numbingly stupid mill rogue decks.
I just played the same opponent FOUR times in a row at rank 5 in wild. Is no one playing this format anymore?
That's actually what I enjoy about Wild, because it makes counter queuing strategies a thing and forces you to play different decks. In standard most people just grind with one list as they don't have to fear getting countered.

I'm playing meme paladin, trying to have fun. Playing the same control warlock 4 times in a row is not fun.
The same happens to me all the time. I created a kingsbane rogue deck just for the purpose of queuing into the big priest I've just faced and make him pay for using that shit.
I play only Wild (EU), but mostly casual after I reach rank 5. While it is fun to occasionally shit on op decks with a meme deck in ranked, I personally don't pay too much attention to the game most of the time which leads me to losses which are way too depressing in ranked, while in casual I don't really care, so I just stick to casual
I don't think "dead" is the best word to describe the format, I actually play the same people multiple times in a row in Standard as well (certainly not as often as Wild though). ControltheBoard is my favorite Wild streamer who is always hitting top 100; he shares our frustrations with decks like Big Priest and Mill Rogue and pointed out that the most fun on ladder occurs between Rank 15 and 10. You will come across a refreshing number of home brewed decks, as well as the usual meta decks. Beyond Rank 10, you have to expect those over-tuned decks, since they statistically have a better chance of helping you climb. Blizzard needs to find creative ways to combat decks like Big Priest and Mill Rogue; give us a mediocre card in standard that can truly shine and fix issues in Wild.
I plan to continue my goal of getting legend with a Reno deck, regardless of how outclassed it is.
SA-Druid was totally OP. Kingsbane Rogue and Big Priest isn't. The issue is that no deck can really hit them both: Kingsbane Rogue right now (and getting more OP in the next xpack) is right now weak against hyper-aggro like Odd Paladin and other aggro-decks. Big Priest for example is very strong against odd paladin with spirit lash and other things, while itself quite weak against Kingsbane Rogue (and rogue in general)
The real issue is simply: there is no other viable deck other than Big Priest: Heck, i think that even unnerfed Raza was far better than Big Priest. But beside of Big Priest there is simply no viable Priest deck right now. Hopefully this will change with the next xpack, i have some hopes for other kinds of priest-decks beside big priest out there.
But in the end yes: Both Big Priest AND Kingsbane Rogue needs a nerf: Why not change the 5/5 ooze to: silence and destroy a weapon or change Kingsbane only to keep the attack and durability on the weapon, no additional buffs like lifesteal and poisonous. And for Big Priest: Nerf Barnes, fixed. But both nerfs can only exist together.
But yes, new cards would probably be the best: for example: a minion that steals your opponents equiped weapon. Another one that puts crappy minions on the opponents board (3 different 1/1s) that kills themself on the opponents turn and fills the opponents graveyard with crap.
I don't think wild is dead, i think that right now many people are simply playing standard because there is quite a cheap deck out there to easy reach rank 5; Standard Odd Paladin.
If you keep seeing the same opponent, then you have identified an incredibly refined meta. Counter it.
Or, decide to care about rank in one format and NOT in the other. Play bad-but-fun decks that lose enough to keep you down out of where the overtuned decks play.

Shudderwock means driving a clown car in circles around your opponent while he swings his sword at you. Half the time he chops you and your car to pieces. The other half you park on his legs and 40 clowns come out one by one, trampling him to death.
Wild is more fun for me, more cards, more options, more decks... It is easier to hit rank 5 in wild than in standard, and I play renolock or big rogue mostly :)
Wild has always been like that. In my legend climb a couple seasons back, I consistently played the same opponent multiple times in a row. If it's a terrible matchup, you need to wait a minute or two after a match to make sure you don't get it again. If it's a faceroll matchup, queue immediately and hope they do too. Or do what RenoJackson did when he lost to my secret hunter twice in a row and tech in two Eater of Secrets to dash all of my hopes.

I don't mean the same kind of deck, I mean the same actual user 4 times in row. It could have been a Even Dragon Rogue he was playing. Has nothing do with the meta. Three in a row is a frequent occurrence for me in wild. I though there was maybe a hard cap at 3, this is the first time I've had 4. Personally, I think you should never face the same person more than twice in a row, Make the queue time longer to wait for another opponent, if you still cannot find one, take someone from a few ranks away. I sometimes get matched up against opponents 2-3 ranks off my rank anyway, so why not just do that more often if there are so few people playing ranks 2-8 wild.

Because of big priest and other kingsbane rogue...
Wild is all I play, but not while at work!

Are you on mobile and haven't updated yet?

I play mostly Wild. Love highlander decks so play many variation of Reno decks (not with Shudderwock, hate this card). Still have fun.
Missing lethal since February 2014.
Apparently not on the last day of the season, no.
Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.

Also on last day of the season. Most class are played (in my today run diden't see mych druids and warriors, on EU).

I thought Wild was gonna be perfect as soon as they nerf'ed Star Aligner Druid. What went wrong?

I only play wild. I've encountered this problem a few time since the format split and only between 5 and legend. The format is far from dead.
