I have posted this into Standard, but now I will post here for more exposure and prob different opinions. Now let's get to it. I think we need another constructed format. Standard gets boring within 2 months of a new expansion and wild is a clown fiesta. We need a format that has Classic+ Basic + 6 sets out of all sets we have so right now would 6 / 13 sets. And it would rotate out monthly. I've commented on other threads saying that we will never see cards from for example Naxx being played with Kobolds simply because they are too far apart and if u want those to b played with each other u will have to throw all other sets with them aka wild. We need a format that is in the middle of them. Not as insane as wild and not as recent as standard. I have been playing HS for a while and quite frankly, the game is getting boring. I do not play wild because to play it competitively u gotta play the top tier decks and thats not fun. I wanna have the chance to play League of Explorers together with Ungoro for example without all other wild formats together with them. When I stop and look at my collection and see all the cards from wild that are not being used ( i know i can dust them ) it just makes me kinda sad... A new format is really due. So Classic + Basic + 6 random sets that rotate monthly. That would be fun and I believe it would be popular as well... I know this would divide the player base, u dont have to tell me that... but cmon there is no player base in constructed. 90-80% play standard and 10-20% play wild. This new mode would be much more popular than wild i think... what u all think? I think getting reed of Wild and having my proposed format would be better. Would you guys rather have my format over Wild?
I think that this would be cool, however I think that the change every month is a bit too frequent. It will make people feel a bit shafted. I would recommend every 2 months, maybe so that it lands midway between expansions. If they want more time, then every 4 months, but again put it in the midway point between expansions (february, june, october) This would help make the game feel most fresh
Problem in wild is just like u said, u need to play top tier decks. wrong, thats ONLY if u copy paste from the net. ur issue is being a netdecker which is fine and works with both modes. u didnt even mentioned Arena so im thinking u cant dont think for yourself, u should leanr how to and start crafting wild decks by urself and see how it works better than expected

How are you supposed to play a mode that has all the cards in the game? How are you supposed to play around every card? Wild and Standard are 2 modes that just feel like all or nothing. It is too radical man. It feels to me that Blizz only even allows Wild so they don't "rob" our cards. It just feels like Wild is neglected ...

You don't play around every card. You just play around the cards that are popularly played. With the high-power level of the cards, most of the "average" cards that would see play in Standard don't see play in Wild. This means that despite the massive list of cards available, the actual amount of cards that are deemed playable is still low.
Your proposed format solves nothing. Wild has a meta; your suggested mode has a meta. The idea that somehow people will play a large variety of decks in any constructed format is ridiculous. People make the same bogus argument about Casual as well. Make whatever rules you want, exclude or include whatever, and you will still only face a handful of decks, so long as it is a constructed format. Even a 1-week brawl has a meta and a handful of decks.

A while back I had suggested a LEGACY format that would use three expansions (some combo not found in standard). Let it rotate more regularly than they put out new expansions. Limits the insanity of pure WILD, while keeping the design space fresh and challenging.
Really wish I worked for Blizzard - I'd help the community out SOOOOOO much ;)

Indeed.
The community tends to exaggerate its inability to "play around" specific cards - you play around tactics that the opponent might use, like targeted removal and board clears. But even that is an exaggeration - Wild has a very well-established meta-game, particularly at high ranks, and you know the kinds of cards the opponent will be using.
There are healthy Eternal formats in MtG with more than ten times as many cards as Wild. The MtG Standard card pool maxes out at about 1900 to 2000 cards prior to its rotations - due to the slow pace of release in HS, the Wild format (currently only 1,700 cards) won't have a card pool as large and diverse as "peak" MtG Standard until rotation next Spring. Again - the community tends to exaggerate the "vast size" of the HS card pool, and the putative problems that the imagined vastness presents . . .
you and everyone else that make post writing 'hs is boring' or stuff like that should take some time away from the game, take a month or 2 and comeback later, if the game is still boring -> quit, the game isnt going to change... why ? because activition runs everything now and they're more worried about making money than anything, right now am not playing a lot hs, i'm playing KOTOR, Crysis and other games, and when the new expansion is released the game is going to be fresh again and i'll try weird stuff because there's no need to play for hct points, just dont play hs all day and/or don't force yourself to play.
REPLACING wild with this is a horrible idea, there should always be a format that allows you to play with all the cards from your collection.
However, I think adding this as an additional format would be a great idea. It would provide players who are tired of the standard and wild metas but still want to play constructed with an additional format that at the very least provides some freshness (since it would allow for metas that have never been possible before). The only problem is that this might discourage some people from buying packs from the latest expansion, but I think it would also keep more players interested in the game.
Dear Gamerstalkerfold, your opinion aside of Wild and standard, I do like you idea of having an extra play mode! An extra play mode that shifts multiple times over the year seems really fun. That way people have to make and change the decks a lot (seems fun to me). A few notes on your mode you suggested:
- Despite what other people say, changing it every month seems nice. That way the 'top decks' rotate more quickly as well. Keep in mind that this play mode might not be so balanced.
- Give it 3-4 random sets to choose from. 6 seems a bit to much for me and with only 3 sets you are using every card you own way more.
- I don't think a ladder format would usefull for the play mode. let it be some kind of casual play.
- We should get more deckslots to implement this mode
Broken is an aspect of something is essentially "wild".
Standard, as in simple status quo format.

Developed Hearthstone player, have played and beaten highly skilled opponents on numerous occasions. Not that ambitious on ladder. Only play off of win streaks. Love theory more than meta.

This is where you go wrong. Wild is barely played as it is, and dilluting the playerbase even more is simply a very bad idea. Rather than introducing another format, Blizz has showed that they don't want Wild to be a broken shitfest by the Naga Sea Witch and Aviana nerfs.
The Wild meta is actually better than it has been in a long time! There might come a time where a middle-ground format similar to "Modern" makes sense, but I think we are far from that point still!

Not really, the meta is awul thanks to the garbage wild community who is spamming the 5/6 same netdecks. Even standard have more diversity right now.
That's an inevitability in any format, especially one like Wild where the quality of the cards is so high. When high quality cards exist that are dramatically better than what is considered to be an "average" power-level, the chance of diversity in deckbuilding slims down because players are unable to design decks without those high quality cards. You can't really blame the community for something that's an inherent part of the system.
Your suggestion is cool and you are probably person no. 1000 to suggest it here on this web page.
My advice to you (not that you are asking for advice, so sorry about that): Spend a few minutes to reflect if you actually like this game or not. Are you having fun? Appearently Blizzard will not make more and more complicated mechanics into their super-easy-to-understand card game and appearently this will continue to be a ‘I can play this while being on the bathroom, while walking the dogs or while watching a TV show’ because the game is childishly simple. If you like this (like I do) then continue :) If not then there are plenty of other card games out there where much more interesting formats exist.
