So I've started playing ladder again after the new ladder reset system, I thought worth giving a shot and I have more time to play. I used to reach Legend or at least rank 5 every season for the last 2 years. But I didn't bother to climb rank 5 for the last 4 months since Kobold release. Mainly because of variation of Big Priest, Cubelock and King's Bane Rogue are too overpowered this time around and I doesn't like playing popular deck like everyone is just playing the same.
What I found here, it reminds me the time when everyone is playing secret Paladin, if you cant beat it join it kind of situation. Do any of you feel the same? Do you think Big Priest, Cube/Giantlock and King's Bane Rogue are the problem? I understand that you can have 100% win rate with these 3 decks against the other deck that have 0 chance to win, its just impossible to beat them unless you play one of these 3 decks or a mirror match and see who draws better.
Why Im saying its a problem, because Big Priest and Cube/Giantlock are technically a control deck, but they can beat the ass out of you on turn 6 if they high rolled correctly, its a winning condition that have never exist before and Kings bane rogues is almost immortal on late game. Whats your thoughts?
Unfortunately, you're right. I'm playing a deathrattle hunter that's mighty fun, but just not competitive enough. Those three decks in addition to zoolock and Secret mage it what I meet the most.
Big priest is not an issue if they don't draw Barnes (guess it's not an issue for most people, if they don't), but they ALWAYS do! If they do, my only option is to draw Sylvanas and hope for some luck.
Cube Lock is pretty much the same as Big Priest. I need to get some luck with my Sylvanas to beat them.
Kingsbane Rogue... forget about it. I need to be lucky and turn my control hunter into an aggro deck in order to win this one.
Wild is supposed to be crazy with a bunch of wacky ideas. Now we have a meta of like 5 decks.
Control can kill you on turn 5 or 6, aggro can take a control deck to fatigue and kill them. Stick to the 5 meta decks or stay at Rank 10.
Actually, wild is supposed to be a way for blizzard to effectively remove cards from the game without people going bananas because they demand to play with the cards they have paid for. If you think that it's anything else, you're sadly mistaken.
I dunno, I just ran into 6 dude paladins in a row in Wild. Nice balanced meta :p
Sadly, since these cards are never going away, this is not going to change much- unless something even more OP comes out in the next expansion thanks to power creep.
Every game either seems to be hyper aggresive Aggro, or Giantlock which will 100% of the time have Naga Sea Witch on turn 5 and instantly win (I have never seen a Giantlock not draw Witch).
Since Wild was introduced, I always played it more than Standard, but this is the first season where I'm playing Standard more.
u are luky u dont play wild before nerf DK Prist u will facing only one deck :)
"The problem was the Brawliseum." its true but what guys do you expect ppl start playing tier 3 deck?
its never work that way...
Talking about DK Priest at least you live pass turn 8, so you should have some way to beat him before he is getting his machine gun and eventually Raza is nerfed.
Now we are talking about Giantlock with full board on Turn 5 and Big Priest with 3 Ragnaros on Turn 6. 0 chance to win if I didn't get a removal on turn 6. Not to mention they can refill their board over and over again. The power level of these decks are insane they probably need some change.
Its not that people have to play tier 3 decks, but the difference in power level is too much that you cant beat them with different deck anymore unless you are playing similar deck.
The sites which track the game (VS, HSReplays) put the number of decks with play-rates above 2% between 20-22. At ranks 5 through Legend, they currently agree that 16 decks are seeing regular play. Cubelock and Burn Mage are the most popular decks overall with play-rates of about 9%, while Nagalock is the most popular deck from ranks 5 through Legend with a play-rate of about 13%. The best-performing decks are a cluster of Dude- or Murloc-based Paladin decks - some are Aggro, some are Combo, and some are Secret-based, and they all have play-rates between 2%-4%, rising slightly during the grind to Legend.
FWIW - in the past, I've helped the folks on the Wild subreddit who produce the VS Wild report. Since the format debuted nearly two years ago, the Wild meta-game has typically featured about two dozen decks with play-rates above 2%, and has rarely been dominated by a single high play-rate deck - even during the apex of Pirate Warrior dominance, the deck had overall play-rates below 20%. If folks are currently queuing against the same cluster of four or five decks, it's likely just bad luck - the top five decks in the format currently enjoy an overall combined play-rate of about 33%, while the six most-played decks from ranks 5 through Legend currently have a combined play-rate of about 50%.

can confirm. This is why I only play Casual because I don't have the patience for netdecks
So this is this magical "Wild Mode" that everybody is talking about when people ponder dusting their rotating collection? :( I was wandering about keeping my collection this time, but I've started to think about it more after reading the comments here, then checked Tempostorm for Wild Meta Snapshot, and I'm not sure if I want to play Wild at all :/
Ive been alot more wild because i got sick of standard and i miss old favorites..the problem is well whatever has been saying ....hyper aggressive, naga whatever or some other nonsense. Braweliesum was a good kick off for people to get into wild.but yeah it did bring in more nonense into the wild meta and it may need some balancing

Wild is fine. Every deck is beatable. Just focus on having fun and not on laddering up. Build a lot of decks, try to emprove them, have fun. There is a billion architypes for every class in wild, don't just play 5 meta decks.
i've been playing mostly wild since around ungoro. got sick of pirate warrior and realized the meta in wild at the time was super diverse and fun. but i'm considering switching to standard because the meta right now is awful. burn mage, big priest, kingsbane rogue, call to arms pally, nagalock. anything slightly off-meta just gets crushed. it feels like standard.
Wild is less diverse than standard now, and that's saying something cause standard isn't incredibly diverse. The meta is just bad and not worth playing imo. That's really unfortunate cause I like wild and the larger card pool. But a larger card pool doesn't matter when 95% of the cards are unplayable garbage (;

It's extremely frustrating.

The best decks in the Wild are all Paladin decks. Secret or Dude or Anyfin. Take your pick.

Secret Paladin is the strongest deck ever... I Never play Wild but i give it a try this month. Result? 92% Win Rate from rank 23 to rank 5.

I have no time for games.

Do or do not. There is no try.

Wild is not fine.
Cubelock needs to be brought down.
Same as Paladin with their broken secret paladin.
Same goes for the Naga combo which is totally unbalanced and uninteractive.
The last 2 decks will ALWAYS cause problems in Wild unless they do something about it.

What about Malygos Druid wild?
