This is a super niche choice but Confessor Paletress has been really good in a Reno/Shadowreaper Anduin deck I'm using to climb. Combine her with the 0 cost hero power and some low cost cards and she becomes a win condition unto herself.
If I were in your situation, I think I'd stick to Standard for competitive play (90% of the Legendaries should be enough ;)) and I'd go Wild only for the laughs. So I'd not be looking for good Legendaries, but for fun ones! Theorycraft (or net-deck :p) a deck that looks really fun and craft your cards from there. Rinse and repeat when your dust (or the amount alloted to this, anyway) replenishes :)
I am bored of standard to death. Standard was interesting in Ungoro, now it is pathetic
No, he might have been memey garbage in the past but Nexxus Champion is a real carry card in Raza/DK priest. Once you get Raza and your DK out, you can play him, hero power, play the spell he generated or any card from hand, repeat. This fills your hand with value/ping fuel and does a bunch of damage to the board or face. The downside is that it's only "active" after you play your two key cards unlike Lyra
Of course, it might be risky to craft a card that's only good in one deck and a new one at that
i play a lot of wild, and think Loatheb is very overrated. The card was OP when combo druid (force of nature + savage roar) was alive, or qhen freeze mage was top tier. I have not seen that card played for months.
Sylvanas is too slow nowadays. I rarely see her. Ragnaros is also very weak versus token or murloc decks, and there are many of those. Dr Boom also isnt what it used to be, it is not a must include in every deck.
In wild the key word is synergy. You need cards that work very well together, and not many neutral legendaries do that. You should craft thinking about what decks are you interested in playing.
For example, I main reno priest and crafted nexus champion just to try it in the deck, and i can say it works wonderful. I asume that card wont work in almost any other deck, but that is how wild works.
tbh, as a wild rank player, I havent seen dr. boom for a long time except in some quest priest
razakus dk priest dont need that tempo play on turn 7, pirate warrior, jade druid, giant hunter, murloc pala, quest shaman, rogue, quest mage, aggro druid..... even recruit pala dont run dr. boom
HSReplays tracks about 100,000 Wild games each day. You can go to their Card Search screen and click "Wild" and "Play-rate".
Reno, Kazakus, N'Zoth, Thalnos, Brann, Patches, Sylvanas, Lich King, Thaurissan and DK Anduin are currently the ten most-played legendaries. As others have pointed out, Dr Boom isn't widely played - HSReplays is tracking the card with a 9% play-rate. In a format dominated by synergy, spending seven mana to do nothing that impacts the board until the following turn is an incredibly high opportunity cost for very little reward - the 7/7 usually doesn't survive, nor does its elimination usually cost valuable resources in a format where plenty of greedy midrange decks, and slower control decks, discover a handful of cards throughout the course of the game. The Boombots also have negative synergy with N'Zoth, which is the staple finisher in many slower decks which probably would have ran Boom two years ago. Other 6+ mana plays have simply supplanted him - N'Zoth, Sunkeeper, Lich King, Bonemare, Primordial Drake, Medivh, Lightlord, Curator, Firelands, Death Knights . . . decks are limited on the number of 6+ mana cards they can run, and Boom rarely makes the cut. There are nearly three times as many cards to choose from compared to when GvG launched - but there are likely ten times as many playable late-game cards.
Ok so this is my list. *note, DB is a strong card however he is somewhat out classed now 9/10 times you should put rag in a control deck over DB DBs only place is in some midrange decks*
Emperor Thaurissan: This card in my opinion is among the top 5 strongest cards in the game an auto include in any combo decks and is good in a few control decks.
Brann Bronzebeard: This card will get better as more battle cry cards are released and its already amazing.
Loatheb: Loatheb is a solid card that can really help seal out the game in any midrange list.
Mal'Ganis A lot like brann this card is going to get way better as time passes and blizz seems to have an interest in progressing the demon clan in upcoming expansions so this card is probably a very smart craft right now.
Ragnaros the Firelord: A consistently good card that is way better than Dr.7 in control lists.

They don't run Boom because they are bad players, mindlessly copying online decks from pros who play Standard, failing to adjust them for Wild, or even not bothering at all.
I got to rank 5 in wild this season without seeing more than 5 Dr. Boom
p.s. I used reno priest which means I could usually see more than 70% of my opponent's deck before the game ended
Since the card pool is getting bigger and bigger as more expansions are added to the game, decks in wild are more about the synergy between cards instead of having powerful cards with little to no synergy with the deck.

Dr. Boom Not only in Wild Leg.
For my opinion, this guy is all time most valuable card in Hearthstone ( be slow its my opinion : )
Still, I'm using many of my decks in Wild

Nexxus Champion is basically a second Lyra in wild Raza/DK priest, which is much more powerful in the wild format due to Emperor Thaurasan
I can't belive no one mentioned Emperor yet. He's in Freeze mage, Controlock and most combo decks
Legend with : S65 Freeze Mage, S57 Maly Gonk Druid, S57 "Okay" Shaman, S53 Boom-zooka Hunter, S53 Maly Tog Druid, S52 Wild Tog Druid ft.Blingtron, S50 Quest Rogue, S49 Dead Man's Warrior, S41 Wild Clown Fiesta Druid, S41 Hadronox Jade Druid, S40 Wild OTK Dragon Druid, S35 SMOrc Shaman, S33 Jade Druid, S22 Control Priest, S19 Control Priest

Loatheb is a good card, but i havent used it in ages. most of the time i dont find space to run it.
I still use Dr7 in some decks, but its not the autoinclude it once was
Id say Reno is the Number one wild legend now.
I also like to run Feugen Stalagg and Nzoth in control decks, mainly Priest for now though.
My advice would also be, buy Naxx for cash, its the best deal with the most wild relevant cards.
Besides anything that has been suggested I wanna suggest even more xD
Old Murk-Eye
Eadric the Pure
Aviana

A bit of a necro here, but whatever.

Sylvanas Windrunner: Best neutral legendary in the game.
Reno Jackson: The best control decks in wild all contain reno in them(except for jade druid).
My to 3 wild legendaaries to craft
1)Dr. Boom
2)Dr. Boom
3)Dr. Boom
Honorific mention: Dr. Boom
