I play this game solely for fun, and exploring the new meta decks after a couple of weeks was definintely fun....up until now
It feels as the point has been hit where meta decks are somewhat established, and now playing Quest Rogue/ Taunt Warrior every other game is getting boring.
Between my rank 22 to rank 20 games, I played half of my games against Pirate Warrior, a quarter of my games vs an Aggro Warlock and a few games against Quest Rogue. There was almost no variation (i didn't track the exact numbers). Before rank 20..
I don't want to just create another salt thread, but I guess I want to put out the question and hopefully get some answers from players who do this: why do you play an almost completely standard list at the lowest ranks in wild? Are you farming? Perhaps I just unluckily ran into some players who didn't play wild last season and are trying to get up to a higher rank in the format?
I don't play any netdecks so perhaps I am not the right person to answer this, but I have learned that people are just going to play the easiest decks to pilot, simply for the reward of winning. Last season I also played an astral communion deck for the lolz, and actually made rank 8 with it. You might have hit a bad patch of players just farming, but there are other players out there like you who are just having fun.
Basically just have faith man, like I am playing wild as I speak at rank 12, and I have played against four completely different decks.
you might also think that even for some veteran palyers Astral Druid is expensive, i'll use myself as an example (Infirc you narcisistic *censored*)
been playing over two years even sicne the game was on Open beta as a f2p have 70 legendaries and a bunch of epcis, don't bother at looking at my colelction because i haven't bothered updating it since kharazan
from Mid-brm up to Gadgetzan i could play any competitive deck i wanted, Handlock and control warrior included, however Astral Druid was out of the question Y'shaarj, corrupted deathwing and the communions are too niche Luxury crafts for any collection plus the deck it still needs a whole load of more legendaries and epics many of which are also pretty luxuriously niche, now take in account there are players who started later and even with money investments they wouldn't have gotten too much, the average is 1.7 legendaries from 50 packs which is are alreadya BIG investment, so they will use the cheapest most effective deck, getting more bang for their bucks and so. and well quest rogue is one of the cheapest ones in fact quest rogue is actually CHeaper than pirate warrior.
so Astral druid: basically impossible to craft unless millionaire
Quest rogue: play hearthstone for 3-4 weeks and you have quest rogue.
You realize like maybe like .01% of players can make a 15K non-competitive deck right?
Most top tier wild decks are pretty much standard decks with a few wild cards. So that's what you're going to see. Very few people are going to craft non-viable cards just for a fun deck.
I played to Legend this Season and i have to say it was just beautiful. I saw Priest Control, Purify, Dragon. I saw Druid Aggro, Jade, Ramp, Malygos/Token. I saw Warlock Reno, Disco, Zoo, Hand. I saw Paladin Aggro, Secret, Control, Token, Murloc OTK. I saw Mage Freeze,Quest OTK, Tempo, Control, Dragon, Fatigue. I saw Warrior Pirate, Tempo, Grim Patron, Control, Fatigue, Taunt, CThun. I saw Shamans Control(I played this and had 2 Mirrors), Aggro,Midrange, Malygos OTK. I saw Rogue Oil, Miracle, Quest, Mill. I saw Hunter Aggro, Midrange, Secret, Quest, Reno/Nzoth. It was so awesome. If you srsly wanna tell me there are not enough decks out there you clearly didn t played long enough.
Dang, Legend rank sounds like the Promised Land

I decided to create an Astral Druid list:
