Because people haven't played it. They think it's full of Secret Paladins and Dr. Booms, but it isn't. If you play 100 games in both formats, there are like 40 Secret Hunters in Standard and 10 Secret Paladins in Wild.
Also if you play Wild now you face Dr. Boom a lot less than before Standard.
Turn five Loatheb, turn six Mysterious Challenger, turn seven Dr. Boom, turn eight Tirion and then turn nine Rafaam. This is after the secret pally stage has ended (my own variation.)
It gets quite ridiculous unless you have the cards to do something about it. Which means either playing a lot or spending money to get those cards.
Just getting into wild now and the only secret paladin I've seen is me! I was planning on playing standard only but the loss of BM, LoE and TcT is simply too many cards that I'm losing (I play mostly dragon decks). I'm going to compromise and play paladin/priest in wild, and standard for other classes. Besides, I don't see why people complain about certain decks and cards in wild ; its the same in standard (you've played against a shaman, you've played against them all...). Some cards are in every deck, some class cards are unbalanced, bad RNG is much more prominent, etc. Both formats have their pros and cons and there's a whole lot of hypocrisy in bashing either style.
Oblivious people trying to defend standard and prove their point by throwing out made up 'facts' and 'statistics' about secret paladin and hunter in wild. While there is literally nothing other than shamans and druids in standard. This thread made my day, thanks.
I played wild two months in a row and yes secret tards are everywhere. Sludge belchers... Shredders... Dr Boom doing 8 damage to face just from bots...
I've played both to rank 5 this month on EU - I've seen more secret hunters in standard than secret paladins in Wild. Sure, you do face Dr Boom in nearly every match, but I'm seeing far more deck variety in Wild. Standard was all shaman, secret and mid- hunter, and tempo mage. I'd say that covers 90% of my matches in standard.
I faced much more Secret Paladins in the beginning, now you face way more Midrange Hunters, Tempo Mages, N'Zoth Priest or N'Zoth Paladin the occasional Secret paladin or face shaman and some Patrons (by order of occurrence). I've been to legend twice in wild and currently rank 4 so I know what I'm talking about.
The meta is still not that good but I really like to play Value Mage with duplicate so I stick to Wild for now.

I used to be a control player like you, then I took a quick shot to the knee.
Wild is much better than Standard format right now. More deck variety, and for all the overpowered Wild cards... it's actually easier to ladder there if you have a good collection and you know what you're doing. Standard is absolutely awful right now.
at the moment, only 1/4 of the available cards from expansions/adventures are not legal in standard. as time goes by, the number of wild cards will surpass that of standard cards, so the wild playerbase will naturally grow as well.

Ironically there is less or none secret paladin in wild actually. N'zoth destroyed Secret paladin; doesn't matter if Hunter or Priest.

And that shows me that you actually don't play wild at all. There are many N'zoth decks out there, and Dr. Boom is absolutely awful in any of them.

Yes, they make this division too soon, but after 2 or 3 more rotation wild will be much more popular just because not all players like to spend time or money to get new cards all the time, think you have a golden secret paladin deck and not the dust or gold for 2 or 4 broken epic/legendary without a standard deck don't have a chance, wild is the way to go.
I just checked my tracker, and I faced more Priests than Paladins this month. Plenty of Hunters though. Warlocks too, and Patron Warriors. Some Freeze Mages.

Because blizzard was too lazy (or stupid) to change OP cards like Dr. Boom and Shredder

Wild is unpopular because people are enjoying to play against 3 same decks in Standart ^^

Because every time i've tried, i have been stomped on by a swarm of secret paladins
Because it's old decks cemetery. So I don't wanna be burried in the OD cemetery.
