Wow, just played Standard after playing two-three months of Wild only. I leveled from 20 to 12 in an hour. It is so much easier than wild, even though, statistically, i should confront more skillful players.
Wild is fairly balanced. There is a lot N'zoth decks as you go down in ranks yes, but those are easy to punish if you're a bit clever... so the rock / paper / scissors works.
In standard, it doesn't work. There are decks without counters, and it is pointless to try and be the least bit creative... and unlike expansions in the past, the most recent expansion solidified this state.
I dusted all my GvG cards when they were rotated out and I regret it. Currently buying rest of Naxx and re-crafting some neutrals and paladin/priest GvG cards to play some wild. When Year of the Kraken is over, the decks I'm playing won't be viable anymore and I don't care much for the new ones.
I like to play wild because there is not really an active meta, in the beginning the old school decks like secret paladin were still very active but since nearly every other deck included an eater of secrets as a counter against it so there's not a lot of those decks left. Facehunter also got nerfed with a few cards. My point of playing wild is that I do not encounter the same decks over and over again.
it does make it harder on newer players because wild generally has a lot of great (=better) cards to fit in that newer players most likely dont' have. Although lately I have been seeing a trend that aggro shaman and other standard decks make their way to wild as well but they are easier to beat then in standard. personally, I like to play a N'zoth rogue which is pretty OP because of shredder's, Belchers etc. that make a return with N'zoth as a finisher.
There are few things more satisfying that meeting mid-range shammy in wild when playing mid-range paladin. Well met!
Wild has a lot of mechanically interesting cards that really can change up your gameplay experience. Duplicate and Echo of Medivh, for instance, two cards that can completely shift the dynamics of how control Mage is played as well as adding synergy with newer cards like N'Zoth, the Corruptor. So I guess I mostly play wild over Standard because it provides some gameplay experiences I find interesting and enjoyable.
Also, tier 1 Freeze Mage. Dear god do I love playing that deck.
And wild is getting even more interesting with TGT, Explorers and BRM coming next year. LOL!
Standard will only have karazhan, old gods and classic cards.
don't forget the next expansion as well. even then, though, the collection will be so small considering only about 1/3 to 1/2 (being generous) of the cards released will be actually playable.
Decided to give wild a try after reading this thread and I must say it's the most fun I've had in a while. That might also be due to the fact that I started at rank 25 and there is a WIDE variety of decks.
Either way, I'm having fun so far so thanks for this. Standard meta was getting boring, same decks from R15 to legend. Is it the same in Wild? I'm currently at rank 23 lol.
My reason? I get to make the craziest decks imaginable and queue up against the craziest decks imaginable.
Yesterday, my Malchezaar Feign Death Reno Secret Lock and Load Control Hunter (whew) queued up against a N'Zoth C'Thun Reno Hunter, and Prince Malchezaar gave me N'Zoth, the Corruptor and C'Thun. 'Nuff said

As long as you stay below rank 15 then you'll be mostly safe from the tryhards (Secret Paladins, N'Zoth Priests)
"After next rotation I probably moves to Wild, I cannot stand in a meta only hunters are strong and all others classes become a joke for them, unless CotW finally receives the most deserved nerf in HS history."
For people with a creative intelligence Wild is fun because it sparks creativity and gives a sense of well being when hitting Legend with your own deck instead of just netdecking which the Standard format invokes.
Yup, totally agree with you (and a lot of the others on this thread) on this one.

Check out my most recent Wild Deck, the Ancient Resurrection Priest:
I really want to play wild, but I don't like WotOG, Nzoth kinda breaks Sludge Belcher, Deathlord and Piloted Shredder for instance. Nzoth priest feels ridiculously powerful, almost borderline broken (quite the opposite of Standard lol) and I go up against it constantly when I try wild. I also don't have my wild cards in place (Loatheb, Dr. Boom, lots of epics and I don't for the love of anything have enough dust to spare for wild.
But yea, playing Dragon priest with Zombie Chow and Dark Cultist and Midrange paladin with Muster for Battle and Quartermaster was such an amazing nostalgic feeling. I'd really love to play more wild if I had more cards. They should really have a "wild" shop for rotated expansions.

My experience is a bit different, since every third opponent was NOT a secret paladin after rank five. But that only makes it easier :)

I play Wild when I miss decks like Demon Zoo, Mech Mage, and Midrange Paladin. I also noticed that there's a lot less BMing in Wild

well standard is now:
-mid hunter
-secret hunter
-totem shaman
-aggro shaman
-zoo
So Wild is more fun, vary and interesting, and I agree, people are much nicer than ever.
I play Standard just for the daily quests
lol hunter is strong ahahaha let me laugh a lot maybe hunter is strong rank 25-10 but after they got wreck lol ahaha lmao strong
I win much more than I lose to hunters. It is just that everybody plays the same decks...
Standard is boring.
Not complaining, I am constantly above rank 5

Only because hunters is good vs Warriors
If only i could buy Naxx and GvG so i could actually have a reasonable chance to get wild epics and legends.
My custom cards thread here (53 cards)

I play Wild, because I don't like rotation.
Legendaries crafted so far: Dr. Boom, Kazakus, Lord Jaraxxus, Sylvanas Windrunner, Fire Plume's Heart, Mal'Ganis, Bloodreaver Gul'dan, Baku the Mooneater, Genn Greymane, Aya Blackpaw, Patches the Pirate, Leeroy Jenkins, Zilliax, Raid the Docks and ancharr
