Wild decks have greater variety, which may explain the difficulty in trying to tech in cards to enhance your win rate or to second guess the deck type/cards your opponent has.
Thats not true, eater of secrets are highly run at higher ranks to wreck them. Haha though there is keeper of ulderman to bring the eaters down to size as a counter challenge
Yeah, Wild used to be easy; but, now it seems super hard. Maybe it is because I mainly play Aggro and it was nerfed pretty hard (with the loss of Ironbeak Owl) while cards like Sludge Belcher and Lightbomb still exist in Wild. Also, the meta is kind of impossible to pin down, which is annoying.
I would have to disagree about Secret Paladin being Tier 1 in Wild - I hit legend last season after I stopped playing Secret at Rank 5. Although, I am on NA server, Patron was superior.
I am playing Standard this season and I find it equally as difficult. Switch to Patron in Wild, or N'Zoth Priest - those were the top decks in NA last season.
People seem to forget that wild is the same game we played not long ago and were sick of. Don't come telling me how hard and fun it is now, get the fuck off.
I was never sick of wild, even when it wasnt called that way. The only problem that HS has is the shallow card pool and few decks are viable in Standard; in this way, Wild can only get better, while Standard will always have this problem.
I think Wild is harder because the cardpool is greater, so there are many more deck options. Doesn't matter if the decks are Tier 1 or not, people want to play their favorite decks that they find fun. I've been playing my own Divine Shield Aggro Paladin deck because I find it fun. I've been playing from Rank 20 to Rank 10, and I've encountered all sorts of decks from wacky homebrews to obvious netdecks.
The hardest part is teching. I'm currently running 2x Eater of Secrets.
Also, I do think Wild is more fun because of the great variety in decks. I tried playing Standard, and it honestly wasn't fun playing against the same three to five decks over and over.
I think the power spike on earlier turns is definitely higher in Wild, that's part of the reason why it feels harder imo. It's very hard to stop a Secret pally curving out with keeper/minibot or juggler into Muster or a hunter with a strong mad scientist curve into freezing, you almost always lose the game on the spot if you dont have a perfect opener yourself. Same with the way stronger deathrattles like Belcher, Creepers etc. It's still a million times better than Standard though.

Jesus, is it that hard to read? I mean EXISTING decks. Dead decks don't matter.
This season for example, I struggled around rank 7-9 playing everything else in Wild: mid-range/face shaman, tempo warrior, nzoth priest. Switched to secret retardin and breezed to rank 5 crushing everything. Mysterious Challenger is retarded and my top hated card. Only comparable in power to Call of the Wild IMO
After hitting legend on the 4th day of this session on standard i'm still hanging out on rank 2-4 on Wild (EU).
After the levels of players on Wild is higher than standard this session ?

Die, Insect!
For sure, Wild is more difficult if you're not playing Paladin.

Die, Insect!
Even with Eater I think Paladin is strong enough to be best class in Wild.

Secret Paladin is the most broken deck ever in the history of the game. Don't tell me Patron Warrior because that required skill but this...
Eater of Secrets is nice but only works if they have nothing else on board which is almost impossible .
How did you get this feat? Playing 24h non-stop?

Wild is harder, obviously.
Wild is also better.
