I was shocked by one of the worst plays I'd ever seen in the Arena this weekend. I thought it might be fun for everyone to post the worst plays they've seen an opponent make. The only thing I ask is that we don't name names. No need to shame anyone.
On to the play that was IMO the worst play I've seen. The game started relatively normally. I went first and passed turn one without any 1 mana play. My opponent did likewise and on turn 2 I threw out a Faerie Dragon. Then my opponent decides to use the coin to play an Arcane Golem. I was already shocked that he'd give me an extra mana crystal to deal 4 damage to me just to let me trade it off for a 2 drop, but no he didn't even go for my face, instead he traded with the Faerie Dragon. So, not only did I have the advantage of going first, but for the rest of the match I was 1 mana crystal ahead of my opponent. Needless to say I was able to steam roll that match quite easily. I'd go so far as to say my opponent lost on turn 2 and the rest was just a formality.
These are the most recent plays I've seen someone do. They might not be easy plays to see... I'm not sure.
Another play that I've seen is someone using equality + consecration to essentially kill a 0/3 minion when they had a silver hand recruit out that hasn't attacked.
Another play that I've seen is someone who used equality and then attacked with a minion that would've otherwise lived and killed the other minion if they attacked with it before the equality.
Just had an opponent that dealt a Turn 1 arcane missiles to the face on an empty board
I can one up this, I've faced three different mages who all used arcane missile while the only card on the board was the Armorsmith. Then again I've also seen Frost Nova played when I have no minions on the board.
I played a faceless manipulator on turn 6 with no other minions on the board. That was on a Venue 8 Pro tablet, with card overlapping bug, and also the last time i play arena on the tablet, LOL.
I just had a game where *I* Hammer of Wrathed my own Raging Worgen. (misclick... meant to pick up the neighbouring Blessing of Kings!)
Still won the game.... but it took a hell of a lot longer.
That's what happens when you play while tired/not paying full attention ;)
I've hammer of wrathed my face twice due to misclicks. I don't know what it is about that card that makes me misclick, but my opponents probably got a laugh out of it at least.
i played a cruel taskmaster turn 2. shaman played a stormforged axe, then hit me in the face.... he went on to waste all 3 hits on my face while the taskmaster lived out the rest of the game. There were other wdh plays in that game but i cant remember them, just remember how it all started, the moment i realised i had a free win and couldnt understand how even a new player couldnt see the flaw in that.
I let my 6 year old play on my account every so often in casual. She tends to go for the face with everything. Might have been her lol.
Had a Shaman in arena who, on turn 1, coined and did 2x Lightning Bolt to my face. Board was empty. Made a few other silly plays, but I knew after that that I would win, and I did on like turn 6.
I've had countless of those 'Guy uses Arcane Missiles/Arcane Shot/Sinister Strike' on turn 1 type of things, it's basically a sign of 'If you lose this, you should feel very, very bad'.
I lost to a rogue today that did a turn 1 sinister strike. Then I lost to some damn druid playing nothing special. Then I went 12 wins in a row for a 12-2 finish, LOL.
I dunno about this matching system, but it's pretty awkward, LOL.
I was playing murlocs to get my warlock daily quest and got matched against another warlock. Here is how the entire game went.
After my mulligan I have coin, two murloc tide hunters, an arcane golem, and something else (i don't remember what).
T1 A: Pass T1 B: Coin-Murloc Tidehunter T2 A: Lifetap T2 B: Murloc Tidehunter (after drawing a murloc warleader) T3 A: Plays Murloc Warleader, buffing my 1-1s and 2-1s to 3-2s and 4-2s. He then hovered over the warleader, reading the text before saying "oops." T3 B: Plays Murloc Warleader, and atta- Your opponent left
This was more of an unfortunate stroke of luck than a bad play but still funny. Like Foo above, I was playing Murloc for a daily quest and got a few murlocs out. Mage goes and drops a secret. My turn comes and I drop the Murloc Warleader for my attack. Their secret goes off providing them a copy of my Murloc Warleader. Some quick math tells me I can finish them using Power Overwhelming but they concede before I can.
I just had the worst misclick. playing as Paladin, had one Sword of Justice equipped, meant to play Argent Commander, instead played my second Sword of Justice. probably looked like one of the dumbest moves anyone could do to my opponent. needless to say, I lost that game. :<

I was playing hunter vs a warlock. He was at 5 health on a clear board and he dropped a flame imp. I hero powered for the win.
Had a mage Frostbolt himself last night, then immediately concede... lol

I had an opponent who played a BGH killing his own earth elemental.

Murloc players need to use their imaginations.
I get this so often. Also first turn sinister strike, which isn't nearly as bad.

Free to try and find a game, dealing cards for sorrow, cards for pain.
I had an opponent coin his pala hero power on t1 once, while I had a minion out while playing a druid m.
