To me, conceding is a form of good sportsmanship. If you're at one hp, have no minions on board and an useless card in hand, just concede for the sake of getting on to the next match for both of us. I just can't understand the mentality of some people that just won't accept defeat even if they're doing nothing to outplay me. Even if they're winning by a long stretch, they still take their entire turn to read every card in their entire hand, use hero power, wank off to some casual hentai before hitting my face in the last 5 seconds.
If you purposefully waste other people's time, that is unsportsmanlike behaviour. There's absolutely no need to take the entire turn BM'ing me with your stupid emote when you could've just finished me off with lethal. For now, I think I'll just concede ty.
This is me. I squelch people so I don't have to listen to them emoting during my turn that I'm taking too long.
I paid my gold, I'm going to take as much time as I need to think slowly and max out my returns. Farm rank 20 if you want brainless fast games.
I took you seriously until you said this. How is it better to just concede, then play the game out and beat them. If they need to take their time, then let them take there time and go do something else while waiting. It is not being a man to just concede when you get bored, it is the opposite in my opinion. Besides if you just concede, they will want to keep doing this so they won't stop taking long turns
I agree with you there, I just meant at the beginning like at turn 6-7 conceding just because they are roping every turn, not when you have no chance at victory
I absolutely love arena. I'm close to infinite, and at this rate, I'm crafting about 3 legendaries per month. I was just at 0 dust a week ago and now I have 1200. 2-3 more months of this grinding and I should have every card I want.
I also hate players that take their whole turn every turn. I think this happens more in Arena than constructed to be honest. The best way to counteract their slow play is to also rope. Works like a charm. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't do this to everyone but when you keep taking your whole turn doing something I think is very trivial, over and over, I think you deserve to get roped back.
Telling people to go play call of duty when they have a real issues that have persisted in Hearthstone for ages is not the way to go.
Sorry.
You have to admit he has a point -- playing a game that requires a lot of thinking sometimes ends up taking a lot of time. It's like complaining that chess players take too long thinking about their turns.
You do have a point as well of course, there's a lot of players that aren't actually thinking and are just roping for some other reason.
OP is talking about those guys that intentionally rope (on turn 1 lol). Sure there are many times when you actually have a lot to think through before you make your move, but everyone knows that there are some guys that rope just to annoy the other player...
I used to get annoyed by that. Not anymore.
When I see that I just switch windows and look at something on internet, or watch a stream, or whatever. It doesnt even bother me...
I agree people take way too long and I hate slow games, I'm all about grinding them games so I'm the self-proclaimed fastest infinite arena player in the world. Sometimes I do dumb game winning mistakes, but that's life, overall I'm gaining way more dust by playing quickly. As every infinite player would know, the road to 7 wins is just a grind cause the wins will usually be easy but once I reach 9 wins or more I kind of slow down a bit.
Also I love drafting Nozdormu because of the slow plays, I pick him over better cards any day, a lot of players are so slow they can't handle the faster pace.
Just played an Arena where the guy turn 3 roped with a perdition's blade, 2 3/1 minions against my 3/2 annoyotron (unpopped), and two 3/3s on board. Followed up by rope turn 4 shredder.

I've heard the opposite argument on here too though. It's a bit like in Snooker, when you've definitely/already lost the frame, it's good sportsmanship to let the opponent finish their turn. Also, on rare occasions I've had people disconnect right at the point of winning. Never give up I say, wish them a "Well Played", if they are BM'ing you then squelch them and let them finish their turn. Seems like good sportsmanship to me.
It's a little too much to expect maturity while playing videogames. Though I'd argue Blizzard has done a decent job of curbing the level to which you can bm. But like life, assholes find a way. Though sometimes it's just perception. Like sometimes people will say "sorry" to me, and I will perceive it as bm, but I understand it's possible they think they are trying to be nice, just have no idea how to express it with 5 options.
This is like people who get upset when someone is standing on an escalator. Like the 12 seconds they could have saved jogging down the steps would have improved the quality of their life enough to merit the stress caused by their frustration.
But yeah Ropecoach might be an example of the type of people you are talking about. He just sits, there, roping at turn one, while Trump is table flipping. He then wins on like turn 6 with Patron and Trump gets salty.
The other type is the idiot who ropes you for fun.
Just find something else to do, if you truly have nothing else you can do you need to find something, and you probably can. I clean the room whenever my opponent is roping, and it works just fine even if I just dust the desk or whatever; it just means I don't need to do it later. Unless you're playing Hearthstone on your phone in bed or something and need the game to speed up so you don't fall asleep during it, but that's a bad idea anyway (lost a winstreak in ranked because of that once, it was truly a sad day for me).

That is not player fault. That is blizza fault. They need change time per move into turn 1 30 seconds, turn 2 40 seconds, something same as this.

You both get the same amount of time per turn. So at the moment it is utterly fair and there is squat you can do about it.
One interesting idea occurs though....... What about a chess clock style timer?! That'd be interesting!

Chill, man. It's not worth it.
not all who wander are lost
Waste time complaining on a forum, about other people wasting time in-game.
/facepalm

Same thing applies to constructed
