i'd prefer if you could chose the pack you wanted, but it's better than just tgt, like gvg after a month i was done with those packs, i wish i could win regular packs. so with tgt it will probably be the same. so for me not perfect but better than it was when gvg came out.
I'm mainly interested in getting TGT cards now and to justify Arena over just buying a TGT pack I'd need 6+ wins on average. To compensate for only having 1/3 chance of getting a TGT pack from Arena.
Unfortunately for me I average around 5 wins in Arena so I make back the 50 gold difference but have a 2/3 chance of getting a non-TGT pack.
It's not 1/3. Blue post said TGT packs are favoured.
Which are the odds? Because I got only 1 TGT pack in 4 or 5 runs

Can you post a link to that post? It's not that I don't believe you I just want to see exactly what they said and what the context was.
This change is currently putting me off arena as I am working to acquire TGT cards. However, for the last few months I would have preferred Classic cards to GvG, so I'm sure that there will be times in the future when random packs suit me better than just getting the latest set.
However, this change means that, for the time being, I shall be avoiding the arena, which is a great shame.
We don’t need another one of these threads, use the search option.
And arena is still worth it because you make more gold and dust compared to construction if you’re a good player.
This is only true if you own a roughly equal amount of cards from each set. If, like many of us, you own most of the cards from Classic and GVG, but not TGT, then the expected value of a random pack is much lower than a TGT pack. So unless you're doing way, way above average in arena every run - then buying TGT packs with gold may very well be the most efficient way to spend it. Once you own most of TGT, then what you say will be true again.
Let me put it this way: I used to play arena almost exclusively to build my collection, but until I own many more TGT cards I will no longer be.
I have almost everything from GvG and Classic (with the exception of a few crappy legendaries and epics that I could always craft if needed), so TGT is the only kind of packs I want/need at this point. With Arena being random packs instead of TGT only, I'm spending my gold on packs instead of Arena. This is the opposite of what I did at the GvG release; I played a ton of Arena to increase my collection because I was guaranteed GvG packs.

Exactly. While Arena is still profitable, it is no longer the quickest way to build your collection if you mostly want just the TGT packs. Playing a whole Arena run (adding the fact that games are much slower now), and not getting a TGT pack is very frustrating.
Seriously though, the only people now playing arena are infinite arena players, and new players who can stomach random packs. This change squeezes everyone in the middle out, since buying the pack you actually want is now the only way to increase your collection. Not to mention sharks playing noobs is not the best competitive environment.

its till IS the quickest f2p way if youre good enough, thats likely the issue, that getting new stuff got three times as slow for good f2p players, while the other way, grinding 30 wins on ladder, is at the very best as slow as before.
Well I'm not playing arena for quite some time because of this change. So we'll see.
Why? I mean, it's still profitable even with a 3-3, you have more chances to get a TGT pack over the rest, and Arena is really fun with all the new cards. I don't get why people say they won't play Arena now.
I did a 12-2 yesterday and I got 475g in total + 1 classic pack. The pack didn't include any good card, 1 rare only. I feel dissapointed about arena. I read somewhere in a post that with such a score you get a legend in your pack (probably troll).
Totally troll. You can't do anything to improve a pack, that's just random. You may finish 0-3 and pull off a legendary in your pack and end 12-0 and get crap. What gets better according to your result are the other rewards, like gold or dust. Be aware that guaranteeing a legend for everyone that get 12 wins would be very bad business for Blizzard, so that's not gonna happen.

I think it'll be better than now but i hope they implement a token you get as a reward which you can trade for a pack of your choice.
...
Guys... Guys... Guys...
They will never implement anything in the future that involves 'choosing your pack from arena'.
The reason? Because such a future exists already: Buying packs.
If you could choose packs after an arena run, then there will be no point in buying them.
I know it sucks, but just accept it.
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.

Yeah it was too hard to program a 1/3 probability, so they did 33% classic, 33% gvg, and 34% grand tourney.

Well, I feel I'm not going to be playing Arena for a while. All my earned gold will be for bying those TGT packs.
Slower and more random Arena, is not even fun anymore. But the random packs for rewards is the straw that broke the camel's back.

You blatantly have no idea what you're talking about. Stop spreading false facts. It's like ~60-70% to get a TgT pack.
