Sometimes you just don't like to deck you got to draft. You don't HAVE to play it out. Even if you'd insta-concede 3 times, pressing retire is just faster.
Pre-12-win patch i used to retire at 8 wins, because there was a possibility for highest amount of gold possible from an arena run. I haven't checked if 11 gives more than 12 nowadays.
12 wins have a slightly higher chance of golden cards than 11, but both have the same minimum amount of gold. That's at least the conclusion across datacollectors out there.

I can't see a reason other than you want to draft a new deck and literally don't feel like playing with the one you've got.
I feel like even if I drafted absolute crap (its been done: like a mage where I drafted a bunch of cones of cold in the first few rounds and subsequently ended up with 0 frost bolts, 0 blizzards, 0 fireballs, 0 polymorphs, and 0 pyroblasts (or any other good finishers). Still squeaked out two wins just by rushing and hitting my opponent's face).
A good player can make at least a little something out of nothing; just look at trump's vids of him doing arena with fans picking the cards for his deck and the deck he ends up with is just god awful.. Still gets 3 or 4 wins.
I suggest never retiring. Even if you're deck is horrible you can usually sneak some wins by rushing your opponent down if they stumble. Also, getting wins with a bad deck is the mark of a skilled player.
+ it's money/gold thrown out the window, I've had a few terrible drafts where I faced decent opponents in the first rounds and started 0-2, but I think out of my 65 or so arenas only 2-3 ended with less than 3 wins.

I'm so glad there is prejudice against playing hunter/zoo/[insert FotM deck here]. People like that make the life so much easier for those of us who play to win.
I always feel like my decks will do decently, and then I draft a call of the wild, genzo the shark and a highmane and only draw the highmane once and the rest never in 6 games! Still, I'd never retire.
imagine if someone wants to start another arena run but can't and is forced to finish their already started one. it really doesn't matter what their reason is, it'd just be tedious to autolose just to start another arena run.

What are the benefits of early retirement?

Xizz0 is sort of right... you're not obligated to help anyone but you are pushing more gold into the community if you just concede three games. :)

When you get a crap deck and don't feel like wasting more time.
I've only retired twice ever, since I usually feel like my decks can do okay.

That's Incredible!
it's nice simply to have the option imo.

Did you guys just revive a 2014 topic? lol
The only few times I retired was when my deck was so boring to play it felt like torture
