All the stats I've ever seen from streamers suggests that the very very best have an about 72% win rate, that is slowly declining, but that comprises stats going all the way back to open beta.
Is there anyone with a month-by-month analysis of the best win rates for arena?
I'm curious to see if anyone has been able to average above 70% post-GvG. I know that Kripp has not, despite his claims. His gold supply has remained about the same level since GvG started. Someone truly averaging 7 wins per day who does 4-5 arenas and plays ranked would have his gold go up by about 100-120 per day, so he'd be up at least 1500 gold by now. He's not even close. I noticed the same for Trump pre-GvG. His gold didn't seem to go up any faster than mine and he was playing ranked all day long.
I know he keeps detailed arena stats, but they go back for months and months.
Does anyone have any info on this?
It would be interesting to know Blizzard's stats on this.
Btw it's easy to be an "infinite" arena player without averaging 70% win rate. If you just average 65-67% you'll probably earn back enough gold from your runs that you can do as many arenas as you like fueled by your daily quest gold. I know I never averaged above 70% but I have over 3000 arena wins and had 11.5k gold before GvG ( compared to Trump's "onky" 13k ).
Yea since GVG has come out arena has gotten much more difficult, pre GVG i sat at above 70%, but now its more like 65-67% (~6wins average). I dont have any stats besides my own but its definetly gotten harder. Kripp Just got his first 12-0 ive gotten very close but best is 12-1.
I know there's been an overall drop in everyone's win%, but I am wondering if it's actually possible to "go infinite" anymore, i.e. have above 70% win rate.
For instance Trump had a 72.5% win rate just about 2 months ago, and now it's 72% sharp. I think he's played about 500 games since ( out of 3500 ). So by my count his average win% over those 500 games must be around 69%.
So even Trump by now must be averaging less than 70% and that's basically all he does, just like Kripp.
Yea i see what your saying... I think maybe give it a little while longer. There is an arena meta too, things have started to settle down, but not entirely. I think once people start to really become accustomed to the new cards and arena strategies it will be possible to go infintie again. GVG is still fairly new afterall.
I have had 2 12 win arena runs as well as 5 11 win runs since GvG that being said i fall on my face once In a while with 2-3 wins but I average around 5-7 wins which is decent I think. I like post GvG arena. it's fun.

I'm experiencing a lot more bad arena runs than I have before. Pre-GvG I managed to earn thousands of gold and dust from just arena, enabling me to purchase Naxx and some GvG packs/cards with ease. I've managed to go 12 wins almost 20 times since the start of 2014 till the start of GvG. Since GvG, I've managed a 12-2 and a 11-3 but other than that I've been absolutely struggling to break even. It makes me sad :(. I've even turned to constructed just to breathe some fresh air.
I also noticed that my results with Warlock have significantly improved in arena since GvG when in the past, I avoid the class like the plague cause of poor performance.
GvG has definitely shaken things up (value cards alone won't cut it anymore) and I do hope we all eventually get to the point of making a profit consistently.
Arena has become a lot more luck-based with GvG, so having high winning rates through sheer skill becomes much more difficult. I'm not just referring to the numerous RNG cards, but also the very fact that having more cards in the pool makes it harder to get consistently good drafts.
Also, I think GvG has made class selection more crucial. If you get Mage/Paladin/Priest, you are almost guaranteed 5+ wins at least, simply because their common cards are so efficient.
I used to love Hunter for Arena, but I'm finding the same thing to be true now. You can't get beasts like before. I think reaching 5 with Hunter is a miracle now. It's either 7+ or 2-3. It really might be the worst arena class now.

1. Kripp spends his gold on packs, he likes to buy and open them. I think all his gold above 4k he spends on packs. So the fact that u don't see his gold go up is due to him buying packs.
2. Kripp recently got four 12 win arena runs in a row...he's doing pretty good so far.
So if you do not watch his channel please do not dispute his claims, you don't know what you are talking about. As for Trump I have no idea.
Well I have watched his stream almost every day for a couple hours since gvg. Have not seen him spend anything on packs on his main account. What I see is him playing arena for a while, then playing silly decks in ranked. Streaks are streaks. I think I went 12-0 with warrior almost back to back once. Lol that doesn't make me some arena God.
I don't see Kripp's stats anywhere so how could he know his own average? If he has them, then I'd be interested to see. I know he's good at arena but right now I don't see evidence that he's batting over 70% average.

Kripp only buys packs with gold on his EU account. Kripp is the only Twitch streamer I watch.
The whole game has been more luck based as opposed to skill based. The majority of my matches come down to either me or an opponent getting lucky with an Unstable Portal or some other dumb random effect like Ogre Brute, Blingtron, etc. The RNG is ruining the game IMO.
I've started to keep track of my GvG arenas and I'm averaging around 8 wins. I think the draft is the most important part of arena now. It is what has impacted my arenas the most.
I've started to keep track of my GvG arenas and I'm averaging around 9 wins. I think the draft is the most important part of arena now. It is what has impacted my arenas the most.
I've never heard of anyone averaging 9 wins over any period of time. Maybe over 5 arenas, but over 10 or 20 or more? That would probably make you the best arena player in the world is my guess lol.
But maybe I am wrong.
Anyway what are you doing differently in the draft now? I find that just value-drafting as before produces crappy results. It feels like I should just go for early game and pick stuff like zombie chow or mana wyrm above almost all else but maybe I'm wrong. Haven't tried that yet.
Since GvG the game requires more strategy as well as dumb luck. I like how things have progressed. I don't want the game to become simply based on luck and have skill take a backseat but I don't think it's unfair by any means.

That was a mistake. I meant to put 8, sorry. I'll edit my post to reflect that.
I don't think that you should just be drafting just for early game. It's important, but it depends on the situation. If you want I can post some of my arena decks.
