As everyone knows, the amount of healing, Board Clears, and Taunts one has access to in Arena is completely random in the draft phase.
However, it is not just limited to the draft. A large percent of Arena matches involve the PreMatch coin flip for who goes 1st. Going 2nd vs Hunter is often times a complete Auto Loss whereas going 1st is often a complete steam rolling the other direction. Going 2nd against Rogue or Warlock can at times be annoying but it does not feel like the entire matchup is decided by the coinflip.
Hunter is strong, but I wouldn't say oppressive. I'd rather face a Hunter than a Mage who just autowins on the board with Conjurer's Calling. The only consistent way to cope with this BS is to draft a highly aggressive Rogue/Hunter/Druid and to kill them before they get their unbeatable combo off.
I've given up on drafts that resemble anything like control in this meta. Too many swingy cards/combos late game that make it difficult to really outvalue your opponent.
It's nice to have Hunter in the mix since it keeps greedy decks in check and mixes up the diversity of match ups. It's good right now but I wouldn't say it's an auto win class.
You can keep Greedy decks in check by drafting on curve. You don't do so by turning most matchups involving 1 entire class in to coin flips. The entire purpose of playing the game is defeated when you replace decision making and thought with "did you win a coin flip-ok auto win"/"did you lose a coin flip-ok auto loss"

Arena EU Leaderboard
Mage you can at least win against when you go 2nd. Hunter is like 15% Win if you go 2nd Against and 85% Win if you go 1st against

Sample size? Going first is slightly better ofc but it's not 85/15 and it will never be in any class, hunter is not exception.
