Or is the new Arena dogshit? 2 days ago, in my first Arena run of the expansion, I went 11-2 and I've been incredibly unlucky with my runs since. Highest after that was 8-3 and I finished maybe 4-5 runs around 3-5 wins. I was consistently getting 12 wins prior to the expansion and even had a 3 12-win streak heading into Rise of Shadows. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I simply can't go past 6 wins consistently like I used to.
I feel like everyone has insane decks, even at 1-2-3 wins. I played a Priest who played 9 removals against me, while also playing premium minions, at 3-2. At 3-2???
Is the overall deck quality higher or am I just crazy? And what are your overall thoughts about the current state of Arena?
I wouldnt say overall deck quality is higher, no. The problem is there is too much card generation. Discover, random cards and Lackeys make for very polarizing games and can often fill the void in your weak spots and bail you out all too often.
Maybe I'm alone on this, but I really hate Wild cards in Arena. I think Arena is fun when you can play around stuff and tailor your gameplan according to a smaller selection of cards. I know for most people this format is much better and more fun, but I would have preferred Arena was standard only.

Im gonna sound a bit patronizing now, but Arena is not Wild, not exactly. Maybe you are not saying clearly what you mean, or maybe you dont know the actual situation, either way it would be good to recognize the reality, to continue the discussion.
Arena is not Wild per se, a few selected older sets were brought back alongside the new one, plus the Basic + Classic set that r evergreen. If we look at the arena pool now, one could make an assumption that there will always be the same amount of cards in it goin forward, give or take, depending on if they keep one adventure per rotation (minus some HoF'ed cards too). With the previous format, this was not the case and depending on the date, there could be up to two fewer sets of cards.
While there are flaws with this new format for sure, one thing it does not deny you is to learn what cards are available, what cards to play around and what cards to expect from Discover and random card generators. And you can do this every rotation, since there will most likely be the same amount of cards (sets) each time.
It does however, among other things, mean that you will have to adjust to the card pool more frequently and it will take quite a lot of effort to do so compared to the previous format, where certain card sets stayed in the pool for longer periods of time, so it was easier to guess familiar situations and probable outcomes. This will be one of the things that ppl either love or hate, to the point where it might bring players who vowed to never play arena again back or the complete opposite, drive players who played arena every day to stop completely.
Really? Fresh expansion there are tons of inexperienced players playing right now. Everyone's win rates should be higher then normal IMO.
OP, if you are churning out 12 wins consistently prior to the expansion, you shouldn't be struggle right now. It's a tempo meta, very few control match ups, and play around Abyssal Enforcer on T7 meta.
Maybe variance? So play more runs and see if you can right the ship.
I really think you just high roll and low roll sometimes on making a good arena deck. You can be a great arena player, but if you get offered trash cards or look at your roster after 30 and think you don't have a lot of synergy you are probably not going to do well. Arena wasn't designed for people to win-streak 12 runs- everyone would pour into arena and start farming their collection. Also the new rotation could be messing with your head. Maybe you had your ground, but then you got stuck with classes you play less and that accounts for your losses.

You can high and low roll your win totals but you should have a baseline average that already factors good and bad decks/classes.
At the end of the day Arena isnt a format that is "easy" to farm, people seem to forget the global average is about 3 wins.
I'm finding that there are a lot of SUPER powerful decks, including a few I've drafted. I just got steamrolled by a hunter that basically had a better than standard deck. Three Marked Shot, two copies of Unleash the Beast into two Call of the Wild. How is anyone meant to beat that?
@Mojomaker: I normally got a 6-10 avarage in wins for arena, i now get the same outcome as you where i face people with 4 of the same removal spells, even got one arena where i got 0-3, which contained a discover into exact boardclear that was only possible with a 450-1 chance. I think you might be on to something, arena feels really unbalanced.

@Boozor: No my wins average more to 6 with spikes above that to clarify that statement. On the discover: i tried to find that exact arenarun on hsreplay, but i haven't been lucky sofar. I will post it when/if i do.
It was a EVIL Cable Rat he topdecked into Ethereal Lackey into Blade Flurry, which did 4 damage to all my minions cause he had Waggle Pick, which coincidentally put back his SI-7 Agent into his hand which he then used to kill my off the last of my creatures. This while I was at lethal with my druid with no further options for my opponent. maybe 450-1 is to litteral, but it was cringeworthy and the flurry was his only option at 8 mana with no cards left in his hand as a rogue. Hope this explains my post (i usually whine at the salt thread though ;).

i believe its as Sinti said and also tri class cards are back and those can be so gamebraking but also so bad

OR AM I ALL ON MY OWN AGAIN

I tried having fun once. It was awful.

Maybe arena players are getting better on the whole?

So you have an 8 win avg in arena ?
What exactly was this 450 to 1 discover?

No problem was just curious.
Ouch the flurry on the Waggle, how perfect. Just when you think Rogue has no AOE....
